“I will never shop at Bootlegger and Warehouse One again, and I hope other consumers think carefully before spending their money there.
I purchased several gift cards in good faith, believing it was as good as cash. The company accepted my money and benefited from it. Now that Bootlegger and Warehouse One have entered creditor protection, my gift cards are no longer being honoured, while the stores remain open and continue selling merchandise to new customers.
I understand that this may be legally permitted, but that does not make it fair. Consumers who prepaid for goods are being left with losses while inventory continues to be sold. In my view, customers who have already paid should not be treated as disposable creditors.
This experience has completely changed my opinion of gift cards and of this company. Until consumers receive better protection in situations like this, I cannot recommend shopping here.
If enough consumers choose to spend their money elsewhere, perhaps companies and lawmakers will finally recognize that gift card holders deserve better treatment.”
“I was surprised as this store is geered to younger customers that they had larger sizes such as XL and XXL. I am an 82 year old and was able to buy a crisp white shirt in my size. I will return when I need to purchase my new jeans or a trendy jacket. Staff was quick to offer assistance but did not crowd us.Satisfied with my shopping experience”
