This is a review of the conduct of Lizzi Leeland Cunningham (Property Manager at Branded Bricks) & Preeti Narang (Director at Branded Bricks).
I rented my apartment to Lizzi Leeland Cunningham & she requested to keep pets at the property. I agreed to let her keep her cats there, on the condition that she would professionally clean the property & fumigate for pet pests on checkout. This would enable me to rent afterwards in the same condition she received it in, whilst guaranteeing no pests were left.
When I conducted references for her for the tenancy her boss Ms Narang, a Director at Branded Bricks, gave her a good character reference, stating that she considered Lizzi to be 'honest, reliable & trustworthy '. I used this as the basis of accepting Lizzi & her cats as tenants.
Given that Branded Bricks is a property company, managing property lettings on behalf of Landlords & dealing with tenants on a daily basis, I considered Lizzi to be a good tenant option. Especially given the character reference provided by the Director & Lizzi's own commitments & assurances that any pet residue would be removed at checkout. She also stated that this was her industry, she was an expert, she knew what was expected of her & that of course everything would be left in the same condition at checkout.
Unfortunately at checkout Lizzi failed to honour her commitments & did not professionally clean or fumigate as agreed. She repeatedly refused to get these done, despite agreeing to as a condition of the rental. Quite shocking, especially considering her profession. The apartment was left in an unacceptable state with thick dust throughout, dirt layers on surfaces, cat hair ingrained in carpets & generally filthy. There was also damage done during the tenancy that she has refused to take responsibility for. A bathroom floor tile was broken, which had been replaced but a different colour tile & grout were used. The remaining grout was painted, without consent, to match. Basically a massive botched job, that has ruined the floor.
After checkout she has chosen to ignore the messages & emails I have sent attempting to resolve these issues, seemingly flatly refusing to face up to her responsibilities.
These are not the actions of an 'honest, reliable or trustworthy' person & given Lizzi operates in the property lettings industry, she should know better & realise this behaviour would reflect badly on her reputation & the reputation of the business she represents. It is a damning indictment of her personal & professional integrity.
As I had no response attempting to resolve the matters with Lizzi, I contacted Ms Narang to gain her assistance getting Lizzi to communicate, do the right thing & pay for the cleaning I had to get done. Ms Narang initially denied providing a character reference for Lizzi. Once I'd provided proof of this, she acknowledged it but then seemed to back her employee & refused to assist. Even though it is her proclaimed area of expertise & as a business role model she could have easily assisted Lizzi to do the right thing.
Lizzi's untrustworthiness would be of great concern to me if I was thinking of using Branded Bricks to manage my properties. I'd want a trusted property manager & a person/business with honesty & integrity, that does what they say they will do.
In my opinion both Lizzi Leeland Cunningham & Preeti Narang have shown themselves to be untrustworthy, lacking in integrity & not fit to represent the industry they choose to operate in. I would not trust Branded Bricks with my property & I suggest you avoid them at all costs.”
