“I went to Brean Sands on the 2nd of September there was an awful smell coming from the caravan and the garden was full of dog poo and under the bed I did report this and nobody came to the caravan whatsoever”
“G32B Private holiday home. 2nd week in September 2023.
This caravan is supposedly cleaned and checked, prior to each change over, why were these issues not identified on previous change overs, I asked Newmans? still have not received an reply email?
Below is a list of faults issues with this static caravan.
1, bedroom. Very uncomfortable mattress, sprung system and very uncomfortable, note difficult to sleep.
2, En-suite. Loose toilet seat.
3, Living area, Reclining seats are old, dirty and don’t recline easy. Staines on sofa and carpet. Cushions are dirty,
4, Kitchen. Utensil draw jammed, will only open 2”, will not fully open unable to gain access. Dirty cooker hood, also some cutlery was unclean. Fridge top shelf cracked.
5, Main bathroom, missing blind, so unable to use bathroom.
6, Unable to use vacuum cleaner, small plastic bracket broken.
7, Outside area, under rattan table, one chair missing.
Ladram (Sue) wanted to get cleaners in while on holiday, really! To do the job properly you will need to deep clean, which means later you have everything wet, so I said no! do it properly before or after our stay.
There is no WIFI, not sure many people could live with that, you can make phone calls on your phone outside the caravan on a good day!! so if you need to use your phone, maybe select an alternative caravan.
Ladram caravan site is good to okay, so book a caravan managed by the Ladram site team, very sad to say not with Newman's, check trust pilot, only 38% of customers could recommend them, so the choice is yours....”
“Would give 0 but not able. We booked a caravan last minute through newmans for Devon cliffs and we recieved a dirty, moody, dusty and run down caravan. They will only give us a partial refund of 15% because we didn’t want to wait around while on our holiday for them to re clean (even though they assured me it had been cleaned when I first spoke to them and checked) and for them to replace the mattress’s and microwave. I’m sure some caravans are lovely as they are privately owned but don’t trust newmans as they clearly don’t keep an eye on what they are managing and will let anything be rented. Our caravan had black mold, other peoples dirty socks, eye drops (my 1 year old found on the floor
As we walked in), dark brown stains on one mattress, black mold over another and a rusty microwave. Plus it stank of mold and dust. We expected the caravan to be a little run down as it was older and could turn a blind eye if it was just the nicotine stains, broken curtains, dust, cobwebs, sticky surfaces, dead bugs and broken and damaged furniture. But no family should have to come on holiday to be greeted by black mold everywhere.”
“It saddens me to say that on this occasion my stay was very far from the relaxing getaway I was hoping for. I knew the caravan was old from the pictures but there was clearly no work done to up keep this place at all. As soon as you walk in you are hit with a strong musty smell. On first inspection I found damaged sofas, a moth smudged into a door cobwebs and spiders, a bottle of eye drops on the floor that my 1 year old had picked up, dirty socks in the cupboard, a rusty microwave and just a general lack of hygiene. All of this I could look past if it wasn’t for what I found next, large brown stains on the mattress in one of the bedrooms and even more worrying black mould over another in the room my baby was meant to sleep in. My partner also has asthma and was struggling to breath due to the musty atmosphere. Needless to say we didn’t spend another night in there an squashed in with my in-laws in there caravan having to stay in the living space and also ruining there holiday. I have attached photos regarding each problem mentioned and would ask that you do not let this caravan out to another family until they are rectified. I would also like a full refund as this accommodation was not fit for purpose and frankly and health hazard.”
“First time booked with Newman's sue was very helpful expecting the worst but hoping for the best after reading bad reviews, but caravan was spotlessly clean as was the site, also had arrival information which was helpful so had a lovely holiday and will book again for next year. “Went to Devon cliffs lodge was lovely although shower were doors slide lot of black mould and scum needs cleaning everything else was lovely with lodge park never again staff rude couldn’t get in venues park to big for what they have kept closing venues and saying can you leave take your drink with you horrible place no stars for them do not recommend but Newman’s no problem just haven rubbish waste of £2.500 save your money”
“Just got back from Dawlish Sands holiday Park. Three tired keyworkers have enjoyed a well earned rest. Problem getting into caravan but that was my fault as missed digit off phone number. The caravan was lovely & site was quiet which is what we wanted. Wouldn't hesitate to book again, in fact we already trying to sort dates for later in year”
“Gold & Gold Plus Caravans. Not well maintained i.e toilet seat broken, shower screen not fitting, light bulbs missing, dirty pots/pans cooker, microwave. Cigarette ends littering the outside of the caravan. Bad odour in one caravan, General cleaning poor. Jackie told me she has not had any other complaints. Therefore I must expect a higher standard than the other Guests.”
