“I booked flights from Sydney to Japan through BYOjet. The itinerary included a connecting flight in Shanghai with a 4.5-hour layover. A day later, I discovered that the connecting flight departed from a different airport (Hongqiao International), located about an hour away from the arrival airport (Pudong International). Considering immigration checks and travel time, making this connection was clearly impossible.
I immediately called customer care to cancel the booking. The agent confirmed that the tickets had not yet been booked with the airline (these third-party sites often take bookings first and purchase tickets later). Despite this, she classified my request as a voluntary cancellation and insisted I pay a $250 AUD fee. She also claimed BYOjet has “no control” over the flight information shown on their website, as it comes from the airlines.
How can a company not be accountable for information it displays and sells on its own platform? I asked her to escalate this to China Eastern so future customers aren’t caught in the same trap, but she was unhelpful and offered no alternative other than paying the fee.
Pathetic service from BYOjet. Never booking through a third-party site again. The only reason I booked with them was because China Eastern airline was not accepting my card.”

So almost year and half now, on return leg of flight was invited for online boarding pass issuance even by Saudi Airline. When reached airport for return leg of flight, was declined boarding 2.5 hours before flight boarding time to Heathrow! Unbeleavable!? Tail end of Covid restrictions, Same flight used 2 weeks prior to get to get in, not allowing at 11th hour to board, citing a paper in hand at the desk of notification dated a bit older! So you took my money and bboked me aflight knowing there are restrictions and allowed me to travel and then also allowed online boarding pass issuance and at the airport have rude staff showing a piece of paper and turning away as if don`t give a damn!
Had to buy on the spot Qatar airway ticket because had no other choice! Waited at airport and spent resources and time further, extreme physical and mental anguish.
Boyo Bozo`s can`t other answering phone first, then lame excuses of busy, Have maybe 3 staff running this sh!t show from down under. Phillipino`s from what they told me! One email later again same no reply of co-Operation and then silence! NOT TRUSTABLE AT ALL! Still haven`t had any reply coming to almost year and half!
DON`T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY, I THOUGHT I`D SAVED 20£ BUT ACTUALLY LOST 870+!!!”
