“Very disappointing, ive been coming here ever since wetherspoons took over, no issues until last week.
Me & my husband came in with our assistance dog, we had been welcomed the week before with no issues as we have her official ID card. However we came in last week, 2 managers said its fine for us to be in, then a 3rd came out. A woman with dark hair. Who 'only let us stay because we had already paid for our meals', she made it clear if we hadn't, we could of been told to leave. She also told us she would not allow us back again in the future. At no point were we rude. We were blindsided by her rude behaviour in truth.
We showed her our dogs ADUK OFFICIAL badge and asked her to scan the QR code on the back for further proof. She refused. Out right refused. The QR code takes you directly to the website. She refused on the basis of not having a yellow book-by law-you do NOT have to show the yellow book if you have the ID card. Who on earth carries the book with them when they have the ID card? Illogical. Thoroughly disgusted with this woman's attitude. Especially as other managers had no problem. We also showed her the law of not needing the yellow book-she pretty much told us to eat and get out. Absolutely shameful to the wetherspoons chain, I honestly never thought this pub would be so discriminatory, ive been a loyal customer for years and enjoyed every previous visit. An official complaint has been made & this has also been forwarded on to the local paper. Thoroughly disgusted.”
“We went for a meal at 17:00hrs 11th Oct 24 and paid by card. The woman serving wasn't taking a lot of notice and didn't seem to care whilst doing the order. We sat at the table till after 18:00hrs waiting for the food and I'd noticed two meals were sitting on the heater part for ages waiting to be collected to take to the table. We were on table 79 and it was the meals we'd been waiting for.
I told the lad who was delivering the meals and said we don't want them after they'd been sat there all that time.
He made some excuse, took them off the heater and back into the kitchen.
I asked for our money back as we weren't going to sit there any longer while they cooked the meals again.
I was then told it would take a couple of days for the money to go back into my account because it was paid by card. Talk about adding salt to the wounds.
NO APOLOGIES GIVEN FOR ALL THE INCONVENIENCE AND WE'D HAVE STILL BEEN SITTING THERE IF I HADN'T NOTICED WHAT WAS GOING ON.
AWFUL SERVICE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL...”

“My family were regulars at the pub, had been for several years. We even have relatives working there.
Went out for a family meal, but ended up being kicked out after 7pm because of their new tyrannical ID rule.
Go f yourselves. You're a blight on the town, and run your ghastly establishment like it's 1940s occupied France.
If you're thinking about visiting this establishment, save your time and go to the Turing Key or The Chequers instead. At least their food doesn't taste like regurgitated microwave meals from Farmfoods.”
