“I went to Clive Mitchell last year with my Alpine E-tricycle Explorer, as recommended by my partner. Big mistake. And even before my mum’s partner bought it in, (as I live in St. Austell and cannot drive) I was getting bad vibes.
As for starters, they refuse to touch Bafang Motors. For seconds, the extra long rear double cable (as my tricycle has 3 brakes. One front and 2 rear) for the brakes needed replacing. Which a mobile bike mechanic was able to replace within a week after looking at it.
Sometime later, we even bought one of the calipers in, as there was something wrong with the calipers, which had all the mechanics in there baffled. We sorted that out using an independent bike mechanic.
They are good with 2 wheelers but I personally would not trust them with a tricycle.
As they clearly can’t do their jobs properly when it comes to the tricycle. Especially when the Electric tricycle uses a Bafang rather than a Bosch Motor. Which Bafang is more commonly used in most trikes. Such as Mission, Alpine and Jorvik tricycles.
Clive Mitchell in this case, did not live up to their “good reputation.” And it was very disappointing.”
“I bought my bike in November 2023 the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought I tried to fit some mud guards my mistake so I got Clive Mitchell to fit them at a cost of course I hit my bike back I had realised that there was a problem with the chain I spent nearly a hour trying to sort it Clive Mitchell told me it was a easy thing to sort out it was not easy by far I was rescued by a professional bike man who even spent about half an hour to sort it it was a faulty chain link seven months later I got my bike serviced from a independent company who informed me that a repair Clive Mitchell did on my handle bars were a very unprofessional and bad repair my experience from Clive Mitchell at summer court was unprofessional bad service bodge repair and the attitude of not caring what so ever very disappointing all round cost me more money and upset shameful company”
