“Initially, I believed Coral Compass to be a great distributer, however after spending a lot of money on some new Reef Factory equipment, my opinion has drastically changed of all parties involved.
I would advise firstly against purchasing the Reef factory equipment. Although I believe this is amongst some of the best in the market when it comes to being 'smart' devices compared to what is currently out there, I believe there are still issues (as to be expected) that need ironing out to prevent any customer left feeling the way I did. In particular in the materials used to make the product.
I will continue to invest in the Reef Factory products, however I will wait some time before jumping into something considered cutting edge.
Upon having issues with a Thermo controller, Coral Compass immediately reacted and helped me by replacing the device I had, with no questions asked. The support was fantastic and I could not recommend them more.
The problem I then found, is that after spending £500+ on Reef Factory's latest KH keeper, was that on two occasions, the item arrived damaged. Whilst the first item was replaced with no issues by the LFS (even though they did suggest it was me, it later became apparent that others had received the item in the same way. There was no impact damage and the item had screws which had been overtightened at factory). I felt there was a real struggle to get the second device replaced when a part had snapped off the item (a tube was snapped inside the glass beaker that had not been removed so it was clear that it was not me).
This is where I was utterly appalled at both Coral Compass and the LFS when it was clear that it had been delivered in this way. I felt that I had to collate all of the evidence and become the middle man to something that should have been sorted no questions asked. Between the LFS and Coral Compass and it was clear that between they believed that I was at fault and had potentially tampered with the products.
All in all, I am dissapointed in how I was treat as a customer and as such, the whole experience left me with somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.”
