The inner pillow is filled with EPS beads, which can have a noticeable chemical-like smell when first opened. This is normal and not harmful, and the smell should gradually fade and disappear completely after a few days of airing. We do recommend leaving the inner pillow uncovered in a well-ventilated area to help speed this up.
We’d also like to reassure you that all of the fabrics used in our products are OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100 certified, meaning they’ve been tested for harmful substances and are safe for use.
“I love my pillow! I previously had a different modular pillow earlier in my pregnancy, but this is great for my pelvic pain in the second half of the second trimester! Also great for support when sitting in the day. My only thing is when it arrived the inner smelt really strongly of synthetics, this faded after airing for a few days, but as a premium product it would have been nicer to be able to use it immediately.”
“The pillow is really comfy but the smell is really offputting - it smells really strongly of chemicals and plastic. My pregnancy nausea can’t take being within 10 metres of it. I’d read about the smell in other reviews and thought ‘it can’t be that bad’ but it is! I’d advise against if you have smell aversions as part of your pregnancy.”
“Hiya! I ordered my first Cushy Puff the other week. I was thrilled when it arrived as my nights have been tough in the first trimester and I read some amazing reviews and got recommended it too!
I’m having a few issues though and I was hoping you could help.
1 - the synthetic smell still hasn’t gone. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now. I know my sense of smell is heightened with the pregnancy but was wondering if this is normal or if there is anything I can do to diminish it as it is making me feel a bit sick.
2 - I ordered the lovely yellow case. It is quite short and I was only able to just tie a not at each end of the pillow which means the pillow is quite short and ‘chubby’ but not really long enough and I’d like it to be a little less plump… have I bought a short or something or do the lengths vary?

“I just received my Cushy Puff and it works well, reminiscent of another pillow I tried in a previous pregnancy, but the design is very nice and aesthetic. However, the delivery time to Denmark was very long, taking more than three weeks from order to delivery – even though the shipping was quite expensive. So I recommend the pillow itself, but I would have chosen a different one if I had known that the delivery time would be so long. And I had contacted Cushy Puff in advance before ordering to make sure they would ship quickly...”
