“We were looking to replace our front door after our house flooded in the Florida hurricanes. I contacted the company before purchasing the door because we wanted to make sure that the door we ordered had keyless entry. In a house full of kids running in and out, needing a key to open the door each time someone goes in and out is just not feasible. I sent the company the keyless entry mechanism that we were going to use, and they were able to install it. They assured me that it worked and we would just have to cut the hole into the frame when the door arrived for the latch to go into. Installing the door was no small feat. It was not the size of our current door even though we measured to make sure. It took a lot of time and almost cost more to install it than the door itself. It was then that we realized that we need an actual key to turn the lock EVERYTIME anyone wants to go in the house. There is no latch mechanism other than the key. Not only do you need the key, but you also require two hands. One to pull the door towards you and the other to turn the key. If you don't pull the door, the key doesn't turn. When I reached out to the company about replacing the latch mechanism, they said it was not possible because it is a European latch and American latches would not work with their system. If you have a house with a side door that you use all the time and want a pretty door that is not functional, then this door would work. Otherwise don't buy this door. We are still looking for a solution, but we will probably have to also replace this door.”
