Be wary of internet purchases with this company. Wanted a stovax multi fuel stove and most suppliers honesty declared it as out of stock which was not suitable for our timescales. FLAMES advertised it as in stock and ready to buy. Placed the order and paid in full. Next day they emailed to say the manufacturer is unable to supply the item for some weeks and they have no stock, Checked their listing for the stove again and it still showed as in stock! When we questioned this they said they just declare in stock because most customers don't mind waiting! They used the excuse that quoted delivery times may change and that they make this clear at checkout. But they refused to accept that this is not the same as pretending to have stock when they do not. This is a typical bait and switch advertising trick. They tell you they have stock, you order it in good faith and then they tell you they don't have stock when they have your money. Do not trust their listings!

Bought marble surround which was well packed in a wooden crate and delivered in a couple of days. Really good quality and looks great. I did call the technical help dept with a question about the install and they couldn’t really help but found a suitable answer on the web.

Great value great customer care. Ordered electric fire over the phone with Sharon who was excellent. Arrived 2 days later and now looking amazing in my lounge.

Very poor customer service. Provided with incorrect information over the phone prior to ordering and when fireplace was fitted, I discovered it was the wrong one and not suitable for solid fuel fireplace. Had to return at my own expense. Supplier would not assist in resolving the issue

I would definitely recommend this company, kind and friendly staff Which made ordering our fireplace easy. Courteous delivery driver who brought in into my house and explained how it worked.

Do not buy from these guys I had damaged fire They said if I was not in to receive fire on day of delivery I would be charged to resend it As I’m at work I don’t see how I should lose money for their mistakes

Ordered a gas fire but had a problem with the delivery so missed our gas engineers slot. When we came to install the fire we found we had the wrong size flu. Flames refused to take the fire back or change it as we were over the 14 day returns period. We have more fires to purchase for our other cottages would never use Flames again as their customer service is rubbish. All seems great until something goes wrong!

Mr Hassall, The negative reviews you are leaving on various review sites are wildly inaccurate. The problems with your delivery that you mention were due to the fact that despite the delivery company booking the delivery in with you, you weren’t in when they arrived. This led to a re-delivery having to be arranged which obviously extended the overall delivery time. You then contacted us 4 weeks after receiving your fire to advise that due to the depth of your walls, the fire you had ordered won’t be suitable and you wanted to exchange it for a totally different brand which we don’t sell online. Consumer Contracts Regulations gives you additional online cancellation rights which we follow. As promoted heavily on our website, you have 14 days after receiving goods to return for any reason. This is exactly the same with anything you buy online - household goods, clothes etc. Surely you can appreciate that there must be a cut–off period for when we can accept returns. Despite your threats of leaving a bad review if we didn’t take the fire back, due to the fact that you are well outside the 14 days since receiving your fire well out of this time, we were unfortunately unable to take the item back. Brilliant service, we got loads of advice over the phone before ordering and they two gentlemen we spoke with were never pushy. Our new fire came when we were told it would and it was in perfect condition. Couldn't fault them.
