“Excellent job done despite the frosts and the rain which meant that the job took a whole day longer but they weren't daunted and didn't try to rush the job. I found that the workmen were honest and conscientious and their goal was that of a job well done.
They even replaced some rotten woodwork free of charge.”
“This is the company that has a big advertising display at Highfield Garden World at Whitminster om the A38. It is basically a one-man band, with part-time help from wife and son. He wasn't the cheapest, but we thought he was doing a good job, except for few niggles such as cutting an electric lighting cable and dislodging a gutter ... until a short while later, rain starting leaking through the roof!!
He came back and with a lot of huffing and puffing re-did some of his work. He was clearly irritated that we witheld payment until the roof was sorted and he was rude when he left. We paid the bill in full (thousands of pounds) and thought he had fixed it. But, a few months later, the roof started leaking again in the same place. He has not fixed it properly and rain is coming in again. What is the point of paying for a new roof if it leaks?!
We have called and emailed several times to ask him to rectify his work, but he is chosing to ignore us. Perhaps he thinks we will give up and go away and pay for someone else to fix the shoddy workmanship and problem he has created? He seems to have forgotten that there is a thing called The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and a court system to help people like us deal with unhelpful or rogue tradesmen.
Glossy leaflets and promises don't count for anything if the work is sub-standard and then the tradesman deliberately ignores you, so think very carefully before you employ this company. We certainly can't recommend them and it looks like we will have to take it to court.”
