“Car Rental from Hell
We had booked a rental car through DoYouSpain.com, and all the information we received beforehand seemed perfectly fine. We submitted our flight number during the booking so the rental company would know when we arrived.
In our Rental Voucher stated that: “A representative of GLOMOBIL RENT A CAR will be waiting for you with a shuttle bus to take you to the local office, located a short distance from the airport.” We had also purchased Platinum Excess Insurance, which – as the name suggests – should indicate a high quality insurance product.
When we arrived, there was no representative from GLOMOBIL anywhere to be found. After calling them, someone eventually picked us up. Only a small cardboard sign revealed the name GLOMOBIL – but the company also operates under the names Green Motion and Hello Mallorca.
There we were told that we had arrived too late and that our pickup time had expired. When I showed them the email stating that a representative would be waiting for us, I was told that “they didn’t send that email” and that “the people who sent it are lying.”
We were then tried to be pressured into buying an additional insurance policy because the one we had already purchased was supposedly “bad” and that it would be “very difficult to get any money back in case of damage.” On top of that, we had to pay a fee for the full tank of fuel, leave a deposit of nearly 1000 euros, and pay another unclear fee. Some documents were shown in Spanish, which we can’t read.
At the same time, another couple next to us was experiencing the exact same frustration. The rental agent became increasingly aggressive, to the point where my daughter started filming the situation for documentation. At one moment, we genuinely feared the situation might turn violent, and my daughter also started crying. I tried calling DoYouSpain.com, but no one answered. I then called friends living in Mallorca, who advised me to pay with a Mastercard, as it includes insurance coverage for fraud and legal disputes.
After almost two hours, we finally received the car. We were deeply shaken and even considered contacting the authorities.
The car itself worked fine, and when we returned it, the staff on duty were friendly and professional.
I strongly advise everyone not to rent a car from GLOMOBIL, Green Motion, or Hello Mallorca, as they are the same company. The rental agent was threatening, and the experience was extremely unpleasant.”

“Glomobil ,Had to wait 40 minutes for airport pick up. They charge €29 ',refueling charge. So already your cheap car hire has increased. Then they try to coerse you to Buy expensive insurence. And the final insult they give you an old battered car, which sounds like it will break down 👎. You may as well hire a slightly more expensive car from the airport with no waiting, no hidden fees and a reasonable car! Shocking bad service!”
“I rented a car via DoyouSpain with Glomobil/Greenmotion and was forced to pay unfair extra charges (late arrival, wrong fuel policy, extra insurance). Staff was rude and gave us no choice but to accept. Be warned: cheap prices turn into expensive hidden fees.”
“The worst company I’ve ever seen. They charge you €29 for a fuel management fee, whether you return the tank full or empty. We were charged the €29 even after returning the tank full. This was on 19/12/2024. Be careful! Make sure to read the privacy policies because they use them to cover themselves. This company operates through DoYouSpain.”
“I booked a car with Glomobil form 10.10.24 to the 22.10.24. picked the car up full and returned the car full, when I picked the car up they had charged me for diesel a lot of companies do this and if you take the car back full which I did you get a refund, which they will return to your credit card.
I am still waiting I emailed them got no reply, asked do you Spain who I booked through got reply saying they received the e-mail and that is it and I have used them a lot of time.
Not very happy.
