“Terrible Vet hospital. Overpriced. Told me $59 and then charged me $248.09. For something they had already examed two months prior. They said that all we would have to do is renew our prescription. However, they said yes but when it got to do it , the Vet declined to renew. Then we received a call to bring our pet in to them for an exam and it would only cost $59. Then they handed my bill to me and it was $248.09.
Don't worry, I have already filed a written complaint with the State of Nevada board of Verterinary Medical exminers. on their decietful billing practices.”
“I have been bringing my dogs here for years because we absolutely love Dr. Stolzer. This review has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Stolzer! Keep in mind, we even continued bringing our dogs here after we moved over 20 miles away from the office.
I have been trying to get my 2 dogs in for routine vaccinations for a while now. I understand Covid has caused strain on many businesses but what I experienced today is appalling and downright disgusting!
I called and spoke to (assuming) Sandra as she is who emailed me after our call.
After sitting on hold, I asked how busy they were for walk-ins. I was told they are pretty busy. Ok, can I schedule an appointment for next weekend? No. Apparently they are not taking appointments for vaccinations but I am more than welcome to walk-in on Monday.
How about next weekend? They said will try to squeeze me in, in between scheduled appointments. I let her know that I had an appointment scheduled before and it was canceled without notice.
This is where it got bad-
Sandra then said "Please know that at this time, anyone that comes in as a walk-in will be charged an emergency fee."
Ok, how much is the emergency fee?
It will be $200 plus a $57 exam fee for each animal being seen in addition to the cost of the vaccines.
So I asked, why are you charging an emergency fee?
She then proceeds to tell me that the doctors are busy, working hard and staying late.
Yes, I understand that but then why not tell people that you cannot see them as a walk-in as that it very standard practice for any business.
She said "well we don't like to tell people that or tell them no"
Ok so you would rather price gouge them? Seriously? You expect me to pay $257 plus the cost of the vaccines, per dog?! That would be $514 plus the shots!
This is no longer about the care of the animal, this is driven by dollar signs!
She was quiet. I asked who made this new "fee" and she said Dr. Lewis is the one that implemented the new charge for walk-ins.
I let her know this is absolutely absurd! I requested my records and will take my dogs elsewhere!
Shame on you Dr. Lewis for doing this to loyal pet owners. I understand charging for services but this is absolutely ridiculous!”
