AVOID this dealership. I Purchased a Peugeot 3008 from Noel in February 2024. I requested for the vehicle to be delivered to me (100+ miles away). I had spent a long time looking for an automatic car local to me- they do not exist unless you are happy with very high mileage or have a large budget! I completed a video call with Noel on a Saturday where he showed me the car, stated there were no issues at all, commented on the perfect bodywork (no dents, scratches or imperfections) told me how the interior was ‘pristine’- this was a car that had been well looked after. As my previous car had been written off in an accident, my hire car return date was fast approaching and I urgently needed a car. Noel mentioned the dealership usually works on a 7 day turn around for vehicles but he would do everything he could to get it to me by the following Friday (6th day from purchase). I then paid a £500 deposit for the car. After a few messages over the next few days regarding MOT/ Service/ Delivery the delivery was confirmed for the coming Saturday (7 days post purchase). Noel confirmed the car would be put through an MOT which would be advisory free (as it shows on the MOT website). I took delivery of the car on the Saturday as promised. The first thing I noticed on the car was the big dent on the driver side back panel. The delivery driver was lovely, told me not to feel rushed checking the car over, to take my time and if I had any issues to contact Noel to sort. Here were the issues with the car on first check: Heads up display did not work (this was a major selling point for me) Rear view mirror seriously unstable (after further inspection the mirror had been totally ripped off the windscreen which left a gaping hole in the glass- non repairable!!) Damage to the bodywork around the boot area Dashboard warning light- parking sensor fault (intermittent) *These are things I contacted Noel about, however there have been some further issues. Upon contacting Noel, he was straight away very defensive. His rely to my message was “This is why I insisted (he didn’t) you came to the dealership to view the car before purchase” Now, the imperfections of an 11 year old car are not my main concern, had I gone to look at the car and saw the bodywork I probably still would have purchased it (had these been the only ‘faults’.) My main issue was the HUD not working and the Windscreen. Noel insisted I return the car to him in Sheffield (I am based in the North East) so they could take a look - this is not something I am able to do. I work full time and have 2 young children, this aside, however, it would have been very dangerous to drive the car for 2+ hours at motorway speeds given the state of the windscreen (with my children also in the vehicle) I obtained quotes from local companies to come and replace the windscreen- Noel didn’t like this idea and said he would need to speak to his ‘boss’ (Noel is actually operations director of the company) the company is called S&N Motors- the ‘N’ clearly standing for Noel!! and when I called him out on this he tried to deny it. Noel wanted me to claim on my car insurance for the windscreen - luckily I don’t have windscreen cover! Finally the dealership agreed to pay a portion of the windscreen replacement as long as I signed a contract to state I would not go back to them regarding the other issues (I had verbally agreed that I would sort the other issues out) I reluctantly signed this contract as I felt pressured to do this, otherwise I would have been left stranded with a dangerous car. I then received a £350 ‘refund’ from the dealership. The ‘freebies’ you are supposed to receive- 3 months tax and Sat Nav are also non existent. As previously mentioned there are further issues, mainly with the ‘pristine’ condition of the interior - it is definitely NOT pristine and there are things broken that I need to replace. Also, this car should never have passed its MOT given the fault with the windscreen- had this been checked properly (it was clearly visible when looking at the area from outside of the car) it should have failed the MOT and ‘Excellent Cars’ would have had to replace this prior to delivery to me. Because of this I will also be formally reporting their MOT centre to the DVLA. Noel tries every excuse in the book to get away with things, especially when he thinks the customer ‘doesn’t have a clue’. Thankfully I did, and I knew my rights. Reviews that I had seen on autotrader were fine, but now having looked at other review sites, there are a lot very similar to mine. Have they possibly manipulated the autotrader reviews to make themselves took good? Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT buy from these cowboys.
