“I purchased a pair of wellingtons for my partner in. They have been used purely for gardening and walking the dogs across the fields once in a while. I’d estimate they have been worn 30 times and stored indoors on a boot rack.
They’ve not been used for 6-12 months due to lockdown, etc. My partner went to put them on the other day and they have completely perished! We had noticed a film was coming away from them some time ago (within a few months of purchase, but presumed this was purely cosmetic).
I paid a lot of money for these boots thinking that with the ‘Hunter’ name they would last a long time - but they’ve fallen apart within a couple of years of light use. My own pair of cheap wellies are still going strong after 8 years and cost me £11!
I contacted ‘Hunter’ and they said that they are faulty, but they have said that they won’t help resolve the matter as the fault fell just outside of the warranty. It’s strange that the materials have a shelf life of just past the warranty period.
Instead, I was offered a discount if I buy a new pair! I can’t say I’d ever trust another pair of these and their aftercare is pretty much non-existent. I’m very disappointed by their lack of care and inferior products.
Don’t be fooled by the brand name - they’re cheaply made (probably in China) and not up to their job!!!
I’ll be sure to share the review everywhere possible - which is a shame, as it could have been easily avoided with good customer service.”
“Took far too long to receive a refund after them reviewing the goods back.
Plus the woman in customer services sounded totally uninterested when I chased it up!”
“My £125 wellies split and have perished within 8 months and Hunter were not interested. They have said it is down to environmental factors and therefore they are not responsible. Their customer service is appalling and I would strongly advise anyone i know to ever order from them again. I am disgusted.”
