“The first two years were without incident and I was fine with the service until the 3rd year renewal. Suddenly the price was doubled and taken from my bank without any renewal email being sent to me. Even though on the 1st renewal the price wasn't changed and I was sent an email that time. When I called to ask about the dramatic increase the man lied to me and said there had been a price input wrong last year (even though that was simply a renewal of the previous years policy). I couldn't afford to pay what they were asking for so needed to cancel and go with towergate at a third of the price for a much better policy. So it's not like I was asking for an unreasonable price. The price I am paying now is waaay cheaper than I originally paid the other years. Just wish I insured with them from the start! The real issue that I have a massive problem with came about when the guy started saying if I cancel my policy and need to make a backdated claim from the time I was insured with insync, then I won't be covered because they only pay out on current policy holders. Is that even legal? What have I paid all that money for? It was waaay more than the going rate for that policy and now it's been voided from the start because I changed insurance. Just with them suddenly putting the price up like that it seems like blackmail, entrapment or profiteering, all of which are illegal activities. I am contacting the financial ombudsman and getting legal advice to see if there's anything I can do, but it's in the policy so I'm knackered I think. Just don't make my mistake. They are con artists and bullies.
So basically I've not been insured for the last two years because I chose a shady company!!! I've booked the rest of my day out to review this company anywhere I can. Don't want people falling for the same con as me.”
