“Disabled. Challenged at Wetherspoons?
It's Christmas eve - some friendly advice taken as unwanted criticism and then escalated out of all proportion. refused to serve, Asked to leave and then threatened with police.
This is Fishponds , Bristol 2023
Did you know, as you walk in - they have/claim video rights to record you but you don't have right to record their malpractices- and ?
Of course any and all staff should have rights to refuse to serve anyone,
BUT This is NOT acceptable if the
discriminatory action is against those with disabilities ( we have a friend who sat next to and spoke to us that is mentally challenged ).
By the the way, no threatening or drunken behaviour from anyone, no refusal to leave, no abuse, no raised voices even.
Just TOTAL refusal of staff to accept or investigate CONSTRUCTIVE criticism!!
Wasn't even particularly busy!
There is a law!!!!
If not applied it will continue to be disregarded
I guess you get what you pay for..
Cheap beer, CHEEPER SERVICE, BAD attitude
Anyone want more info ?”
“Wetherspoons Ryde the Isle of Wight today, chicken wrap today hardly any chicken. The manager said that's the amount you get now. Been using Spoons Ryde three times a week for twelve years, and up until recently food was always good with decent size servings. The quality of the gourmet steak and bacon for breakfast along with other dishes have been uneatable. We won't be using Spoons anymore, I wonder how many more people will be making the same decision.”
“Delightful 2 nights at White Hart Inn, Okehampton. Surprised to find the bar and dining area was totally packed on both weekday nights with happy people enjoying terrific meals. Great food and big range of interesting craft beers, all at fantastic prices.
Like all in hospitality they were short of staff, but it didn't spoil things for me.
Well done everyone, and thank you.”
“Went to the hatchet in Newbury today. My wife and I both ordered the griddled herb & lemon chicken! What we got was a microwave chicken that had been nowhere near a griddle! Absolutely disgusting unless you enjoy boiled chicken which everyone knows is what a microwave does! Never again will I indulge in slimy chicken costing £20.
I used to be a fan of Weatherspoons but I've had too many bad meals just lately and so enough is enough, no more!”
“Drinks didn’t arrive had to go to bar to get though ordered on app. Ordered smothered chicken absolutely disgusting first chicken was under cooked with raw bacon on top asked to heat or recoil it. It was just like rubber, tasteless told it comes ready made. Never again I love Wetherspoons but this dish is a no go, unfortunately the standard of food has gone down massively !!”
“Glasgow Wetherspoons The Hengler's Circus
As a professional English teacher 60+ to students learning English as a second language I was totally disappointed never mind embarrassed to be told by an northern Irish member of Wetherspoons staff that having one drink and ordering the second that I was slurring my words and he would not serve any further drinks ! Please avoid this establishment at all cost because if you cant talk in a Northern irish accent or broad Glaswegian they may consider you drunk !”
“This was our first trip out since lockdown for food and drinks at the pub and we really enjoyed the experience at out local Wetherspoons (Portland Hotel). They were well organised and the staff friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our food and drinks in a Covid safe environment and are looking forward to our next visit.”
“Had a very enjoyable meal. The beef burger was cooked to perfection and the chips nice and hot. My partner had the mixed grill, again no complaints with the meal. Decent prices too.”
“Woodseats Palace, Sheffield. Ordered usual meal, southern fried chicken wrap which I have eaten at many Wetherspoons. Given the cold chicken wrap instead. When I have sent it back and my original ordered meal has arrived it definitely does not taste as usual. It's as if they have sprinkled pepper on it. Spoke to Manager, who says he has only been there for a few weeks and not received any complaints. Well that's ok because somewhere I have eaten for many years I will not be going again.”
