“Very good catalogue and a wide range of hardware. I finished a meeting early at Birmingham Airport, rang to ask if there was time to place and then collect a web order and the lady in sales (unfortunately I can't remember her name) took the order straight away. It was ready by the time I'd made my way to Lion. Very impressed. Getting home was another story due to roadworks....”

“This review is about my most recent order. On 10th August I ordered some moulding using a next day delivery voucher. As this was a Friday I didnt expect it until Monday or Tuesday. As I didn't get the usual tracking info on Tuesday morning I rang Lion and spoke to Julie who checked for me and rang back promptly. Apparently the delivery had gone AWOL. She said that she would make sure that the delivery was sorted. As I would not be available on Wednesday 15th we agreed that it would arrive at my address on Thursday 16th before 12noon. When I arrived home late on the 15th, there was a card through the door saying my delivery had been left at 11.35 on top of the bins. Two problems:- 1. On the tracking system it said that I had signed for the delivery although I was 70 miles away at the time - so the driver faked my signature! 2. It rain very heavily during the evening before I got home risking the total ruin of the delivery Today (Thursday) I rang Lion and spoke again to Julia who was again very helpful. Comments:- 1. Is it normal practice for DX delivery drivers to fake signatures? 2. Why was the delivery time / date not followed through? 3. Someone has to pay for all these problems - and at the end of the line it is probably the customer through increased prices!!!!!!!!!!!! OK - Rant over ps the staff at Lion are very helpful”

“Generally I have been pleased with the wood although some I have just used had a burn mark on it which was quite visible and another dark blemish in the wood. The delivery has always been really prompt.”

“I bought the 25mm plastic round key hole hangers, they are so much easier to use than the traditional metal ones. Simple drill one 25mm hole then glue in place.”

“Generally very good service but recently commented on my moulding order being 80% more than I ordered. While I well understand that it is impossible ( with the exception of Minerva ) to supply exactly the amount required I felt that I should have been informed why this was. I was told that Lyon would have to telephone everyone as virtually all orders are over that required due to length variation. I do however feel there should be a point where a phone call should be made i,e, 50% over.”

“I had not ordered for a long while due to other commitments and had difficulty placing online order but after posting a message on facebook I was contacted and all sorted swiftly. I expected to wait for the delivery up to three days as stated but it arrived by DPD next day in a time slot. Terrific service, back soon for more.”
