“A very rude lady would not listen to wot I was asking , I believe she is the owners wife , she said I did not buy my baby tortoise from a reputable breeder which her husband on a earlier visit said was very good , accused me of not taking good care of my tortoise I’m very upset as I have done my very best and just need a bit of advise.”
“As a young person interested in reptiles, my recent visit to Littlehampton Exotics left me feeling not only disappointed but also deeply frustrated and attacked. The encounter with one of the workers at the store revealed a disturbing pattern of misinformation and stereotyping that marred what should have been an enjoyable and educational experience.
However, my excitement quickly turned to dismay when a worker approached me with an air of condescension, assuming that as a young person, I couldn't possibly be knowledgeable about reptiles.
Instead of engaging in a meaningful conversation or providing accurate information, the worker proceeded to spew blatant misinformation and stereotypes about reptile care. They made sweeping generalizations about my supposed lack of responsibility and commitment as a young person, assuming that I was not genuinely interested in properly caring for a reptile.
Not only did this behavior make me feel unwelcome and disrespected, but it also highlighted a troubling disregard for the well-being of the animals in the store. By perpetuating falsehoods and discouraging young enthusiasts from learning and engaging with reptiles, the worker at Littlehampton Exotics is not only doing a disservice to customers but also contributing to the perpetuation of harmful stereotypes.
Unfortunately asides from this I've had positive experiences with Littlehampton Exotics and especially the Owner. If I don't rate it one star my comment won't be noticed and I'm certain I'm not the only person to comment about this women's behaviour.”
“I was very pleased with the advice that I received from the staff and fell more confident with looking after my python , I would recommend Littlehampton exotics to anyone”
“I went in to Littlehampton Exotice for help with my Tortoise the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and even gave me a box of special food look me round the shop to see their great selection of animals I would use them n trust them”
“PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING FROM THIS SHOP...... Sadly I'm unable to give this shop more than 1 star and I'm uncomfortable giving them a rating that high, I have to give at least this in order to leave my review. Very rude staff and the advice they give is hugely inaccurate. I purchased a snake from them that in my ignorance at time of purchase was in very poor health. Very dehydrated as they don't and even advised me NOT to give it a water bowl. I IGNORED THIS AND THE POOR THING DRANK FROM THE BOWL I PROVIDED AS IF IT HAD NEVER HAD A DRINK IN IT'S LIFE. The enclosure they sold me to go with the snake was completely unsuitable so I had to buy a proper setup from a reputable shop near by. 3 weeks later the poor thing is covered in mites. Evidently an import from farm or wild caught although I was told it was captive bred from his mate in Essex yet Mike the owner was unable to back this up with any evidence after I became suspicious and requested proof. Please avoid at all costs and go to one of the other shops in the area who know what they're doing. Also keep scrolling through the reviews, a shocking amount of negative comments. I also had to return the heatmat the day after purchasing as it was faulty and was met by a very aggressive woman who was very unhappy to exchange. A cruel and dreadful establishment! Please for the sake of the animals AVOID!!!!!!”
