“Brought a car from them back in March 2024. Buying the car was very easy and simple, Kieran ran through everything totally fine.
Upon collection day I received the car went 5 miles down the road only for Muliplte faults to occur. I rang the dealership and they got me back up there to check it out… after another 30-40minutes I was told to book it in at Volvo and they’re cover any cost.
Took me a week or so to get booked with Volvo but due to me going through the warranty I also brought with LMC, I had to book it in for an diagnostics then get a quote, pay for that then claim that money back and before getting the work done had to have it confirmed by warranty before re booking so the process was very long! Even after the work was done I had to wait a long while before getting my money back.
It gets worse… every time it went into Volvo they found diffent issues which were causing other issues to fail.. it then turned out the car has been in a slight accident who Volvo identified but LMC wasn’t bothered about!
The MOT was done 2 days before buying the car with no advisories yet Volvo has claimed itself the car wasn’t in a MOT passable way. I’ve had a break check done yesterday to see if I can remedy issues that they’re not interested about and turned out the front brakes are also a MOT fail.. I’ve done 2500 miles since March.. they were already in a bad way upon buying the car. Let’s not forget it’s been in the garage close to 7 times aswell.
To this day today 24th August 2024, my car has still been in and out of the garages!! I’ve recently had it retuned from LMC themselves as they refused me any more work done at Volvo but after receiving the car it still has issues even after the manager said “It drives like a v90 should!” I’ve continuously emailed LMC and they’ve very slow at replying and trying to ring them is nearly impossible as nobody has direct lines on days when it suits them. I have contacted LMC about the car on Thursday 22nd and I’ve yet to have an reply since.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend buying the car from them, it’s an easy process buying but aftercare is awful. I honestly wish I never spent my £18,000 with them!!”
“Whilst I can't offer an opinion on what kind of service LMC or Farnham Ltd offer when you're looking to buy a car, I can when it comes to their servicing department. What a truly appalling company. Really terrible workmanship and a complete refusal to acknowledge it. Their servicing department sent my family out in a car which was dangerously unroadworthy after alleging that they had dropped the fuel tank and welded the chassis - subsequent investigations revealed that the fuel tank hadn't actually been dropped at all (a substantial quantity of welding spoil remained on top of the tank), hence the mechanic failed to notice that the chassis was completely rotted away underneath. The 'welding' they did could be peeled off by hand ( just take a look at the video attached). They had also serviced the car six months earlier. Fortunately, as it turns out, the head gasket blew a couple of months later or there would have inevitably been a serious accident, probably when my wife was towing horses, with the children on board. If I could give them less than one star I would certainly do so. Discussions are ongoing with VOSA and Counsel.”
