I took my time researching sheds for the sole purpose of avoiding doing business with anyone or anything Amish/Mennonite. Reading the little “our story” section on their website, it makes one believe they’re a small family business. That is 100% not the case. All these sheds are Amish built. I didn’t figure that out till after I’d made my down payment and signed a purchase agreement. That one’s on me for not asking more questions and taking things at face value. If you’re part of the growing number of people who are looking to avoid doing business with the Amish, I’d definitely stay away from this company. The framing in my shed looks like it might’ve been done by a high school shop class. The top sill plates on the walls should be tied together and not butted up. I’m a mediocre carpenter and I feel like I could’ve built my shed at least as good, if not better. The metal siding was cut poorly in a few places and instead of figuring it out and making it work, it looks like they just screwed it down and called it good. There are several random nails ran thru that missed the board behind it. My grandkids will be inside this shed. I’ve went thru and removed or cut off the nails I could find that missed their mark. These are somewhat minor details that should’ve never made it thru final inspection. For the money I spent, they shouldn’t exist. If I had it to do over, I would’ve loved to build this myself or given my money to a local contractor. I wouldn’t fall for the whole small family thing thinking you’re getting a superior product here. Garden sheds are pretty simple structures and from what I’ve seen, they’re pretty much all the same. My goal with this shed was to avoid doing business with the Amish and I failed. The 16 x 24 shed sitting in my yard is no better than any other shed I looked at before purchasing. Lesson learned.

We have had NOTHING but problems with this company! This was purchased as a mother's day gift back in 2022, the building they built leaked allot of water, had broken wood, wasn't completely painted, crooked windows that wouldn't close all the way and nails sticking out everywhere. We tried to communicate with them and they were extremely rude & kept telling us there's nothing they would do. They do don't communicate with each other within that company at all, so that in itself was the beginning of a mess to come.. FIIIINALLY after months and months and months of contacting them and waiting for a response they came to replace the door that was leaking (after they said it was fine and didn't need to be replaced then said oh yeah it's worse then we thought) and replaced the worse of the crooked windows, which the frame was crooked so the window was still crooked.. The door they brought was worse then the other one, there were huge gaps all around it, you could see outside and stick your fingers outside and it leaked worse then the first one ! They also tried to fix the wood and cracked it even more to the point they'd have to remove the whole roof to fix it.. We were beyond frustrated and angry because we weren't able to use this building for over a year at this point due to all these issues. They told us that they would build another one and put us first in line... Well that wasn't the case. We waited months, they kept putting us off saying that they have holidays and aren't going to be in town or expos and aren't going to be in town. We got the other one at the very end of November and guess what... It leaks worse!! It's not completely painted and there's broken wood and nails still sticking out!! This was bought for an office, so this whole time, I'm losing tons of money on top of that my boyfriends had to miss so much work also losing tons of money over their "attempts" to remedy their mistakes! Kids honestly shouldn't be building these buildings, I understand they want their children to learn their trade but come on! Good luck getting anything fixed from this company with your "lifetime warranties" in a timely manor or at all or get communication back for your issues!! This has been nothing but a stressful situation, wasted money and major set back for our plans.. I will NEVER recommend Marten Buildings to anyone. I will be getting someone that is certified and licensed to fix these!
