Her coaches consistently tell her to tighten her legs, but after her critique, she was able to see how much she was losing because of her legs. “We just tried meetcritique for the first time with a beam routine from practice. Wow! Our gymnast was able to see all of her deductions, and even identified one that she didn't even realize was a deduction! Plus, she long ago decided that she was never going to tuck in her head while doing cartwheels on the beam (she said it is too scary), but when she saw herself and saw the deduction next to it, it inspired her to work on it! Submitting practice routines is something I wish gymnasts and their families would do more! Prepping for a meet is hard word work and any little edge an athlete can get can be huge. Maybe should've called ourselves PracticeCritique - but that doesn't have the same ring tbh :)
“My daughter is in the process of trying to move up a level. She is clearly ready on 3 of 4 events but she really struggles on bars. The gym had an in gym score day where one score was a 4.0 and the other was a low 6. We knew when submitting the video to meetcritique that the score would probably be low but we wanted another opinion. After a judge reviewed the routine they reached out to expressing concern that posting her results would be potentially damaging to my daughter’s confidence and they wanted us to be aware of that. The customer service we received during this process was amazing and we will be using meetcritique again in the future.”

I was also to show my daughter all of her deductions and she understood everything and was able to take the critique in a positive light and apply herself at her next practice. “Easy and quick process! My daughter had a meet on Saturday, I uploaded Friday morning expecting to use it for the meet at the end of the month, but it was ready by 6pm Friday! “Meet Critique has been such a great experience for my 9 year old Level 5. She loves watching the video and reading the critiques as it goes. It super helpful the video is paused when there is a critique so she can see her body position. It's been a helpful tool in making her aware of the small little errors in a routine (i.e. soft knees, in correct body position, etc.) that really take away from the score she wants. As a parent, it's been very helpful for me too! I also appreciate that the critique always starts with positives.”
