“I hired a skip through this company and it was filled in 1 day. They quote "we guarantee a next-day and, in some instances, same-day service" on their website. 5 days later, and they still haven't picked up the skip. This is an issue as they do not allow certain things in their skips, including carpet. This would have been fine if picked up quickly, but as so much time has passed, the skip is being filled by other people. Including with stuff they do not allow. When called, they said that we should have kept an eye on it. I do not live in the property as it is being renovated, and I would have found it difficult to watch this as I slept overnight! They also said that I should just remove the items and leave it on the road, which is fly tipping. I now face charges because they haven't kept up with the service they advise on their website. Also worth noting that the skips don't accept a lot, including stuff that isn't included in the written terms and conditions and also some things that aren't included in the images on the website. I will likely be using the council to remove the remaining things (carpet that I purposefully kept out), or hiring a skip service that can actually provide the service. Also expensive for what little they offer!”
“Poor service. Booked and paid for skip via website for set date. Booking then subcontracted twice (not something that is clear will happen). Company subcontracted to unable to deliver skip on agreed date”
“It's convenient for an old lady like me, to buy ag bag loads. A couple weeks ago a lovely friendly and helpful delivery man who was Lithuanian put the bag exactly were I wanted it and offered to tip the bag so I can spread it easier.
It took me over a week to spread it and make a quagmire much drier as I'm very old and creaky with less than half my lungs working.
I ordered more to do the other wet bits. Another super lovely Lithuanian driver. Put the bags exactly where I wanted, one this side of the garden, the other on the far side. This time he suggested to slash the bag when it was in the air which he did, and he took the bags away with him.
The crushed limestone is very different to the previous lot and it smells of crushed concrete. But if it does the job, I really don't care.
Sent the driver off with a bag of apples and rare 'Nashi' pears picked off the trees while he was unloading.
You cannot fault their lovely drivers and I will 100% be using Mick George again because of them.
I only gave 4 stars because I never give *anyone* 5 stars. It gives them something to strive for. The *drivers* would get 5 stars though . ❤
Also, it's really convenient to order online and pay using paypal.”
“Terrible customer service had 13+ skips whilst renovating a house then they collected a skip without me booking a collection and without notice before we had filled it. Had all the previous skips on exchange.Called wait on the phone for 30+ minutes to be told that there was nothing they could do! Will get the next 20 skips elsewhere a found a cheaper quote!”
“If you're a member of the public buying from Mick George I would strongly urge you to shop around. The prices for none trade are horendous to the point of absolute robbery. I'm a builder and I've just moved to an area where Mick George opperates. I was looking for a good provider and thought I'd give this company a try before opening an account. It ended being a very costly mistake, one I will not make twice. I would not recommed Mick George to anyone. I was warned about them before I made my purchase, but unfortunatley I was in a rush and didn't take the advice.
The advice given to me, and my advice to others "AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE"”
“Terrible customer service, driver rude and unhelpful, company promised return of delivered gravel at £15 then wanted ME to pay liability insurance!
As if they haven’t got any !”
