“Looking to buy a decent 'run-around' for my daughter and decided to run a quick check before viewing and test drive. Turned out the car was registered Cat N and although Not Structural, the vendor became 'evasive' when challenged. Wisely decided not to proceed with this purchase!”

“Did a vehicle check before buying a motorbike frame with V5 on eBay, all was OK with no markers against it, sent the V5 away and received a letter from DVLA stating the bike was an insurance write off and can't be used on the road. Luckily I managed to get my money back from the seller but will definitely NOT be using Mycarcheck again”

Hi Iain Sorry that the vehicle check did not show an insurance write off at the time the check was created. We took the date from the report shown on the eBay advert by the seller, when the report was created we had not been advised by our data partners of the write off. We're investigating with them why there was a delay in sending us this data. Glad you got your money back. Sincere apologies The My Car Check Team

“I was shocked to be told by MyCarCheck DO NOT PURCHASE a very nice Mercedes CLK, as it had a marker of being an insurance TOTAL LOSS. I rang the number, only to find the office was not open until 10am on Sat. So I paid HPI and they informed me the personalised number plate on the car had been on a car previously which was a TOTAL LOSS. It did NOT affect the CLK I was buying! Moral of the story, you get what you pay for!”

Hi Thanks for doing a check with us, as with HPI our call centre would have been able to tell you that the write off was against another vehicle. We'd rather ask you to get in touch if there's any possibility that negative information has been found on a vehicle reg number being checked. The cherished transfer process can take a significant period of time to complete, for us to be completely sure we'd want to investigate, that's why we displayed a marker on the report. “Revealed a series of failed MOT's since the car was two years old. When we saw the car was very disappointed with its condition, dealers attitude was 'what do you expect from a 2008 car, even though he had another he had sold that was older, cheaper and had more miles but much better condition. He said he knew nothing about mot history. I didn't buy the car but found a better one!”

“Cheaper and more striaghy forward than all others, I would have given five stars but when you print the report it shows incorrect valuation, because valuations are debatable, if you seek the car on you don't want the buyer seeing that bit , and it has no bearing on a house check”

“don gave a trully sterling service when I spoke to him ... He was so helpful , clear and concisde ... I had stupidly checked the private plate which had already ( unknown to me ) came OFF the car I was l was going to view.... Don helped a lot and told me the info for the number which was relevant... very happy ... will recommend .....”
