“I was in the market for a 3/4 season lightweight tent and it was a toss up between the Otimos X-lite nomad solo or the Durston X-Dome 1+. After watching countless YouTube reviews of both and them being pretty similarly received my choice came down to price. “I recently took the Otimos UL850 Hybrid Down Quilt on a wild camp at Hallin Fell in the Lake District, and it seriously impressed me.
Temperatures dropped to just above freezing overnight, with the usual Lake District dampness in the air, but the quilt kept me consistently warm and comfortable throughout the night. The 850 fill down lofted quickly and retained heat extremely well without feeling stuffy, which is exactly what you want in those borderline cold conditions.
One thing worth highlighting is the length and coverage. At 6ft 6, I often struggle with quilts or sleeping systems that leave my feet or shoulders exposed, but this quilt had plenty of room. I could fully tuck it around me without any cold spots, even when shifting position during the night.
The hybrid design works brilliantly for wild camping: lightweight, packable, and easy to adjust depending on conditions. It handled the cool temperatures with ease and felt well-suited to three-season use in the UK,
Overall, this quilt exceeded expectations. Warm, lightweight, well-sized for taller users, and ideal for wild camping in cooler conditions. I wouldnāt hesitate to take it out again on future trips
