“Penicuik/Jobs worth doing were paid £18,000 to fit double glazing window units to our property. They were paid to replace old sash/case windows by the previous elderly owners and to our horror when we bought the property we discovered they had installed the windows onto old rotten wood, they left the old casings in place and just covered them with plastic. They also did not measure the windows properly and basically put thick pieces of wood underneath onto bare stone sills to prop them up and then covered them with plastic. The quality of the windows used were really poor with easily broken handles, windows that will not open and windows that now will not lock closed so the wind pulls them open.
We have been in contact with Jobs Worth Doing for over a year to have our windows fixed and have a written agreement from them that they would fix all windows but today we have just found out that the parent company to Penicuik and Jobs Worth Doing has gone into administration and they are not honouring any warranties so now we will have to pay to have them fixed.
I would not trust this company for their workmanship, their customer services and my over all view would be to find a small local contractor who will treat you far better than this national company will.
Please do your research on this company before you use them, as they also went into administration in 2007, is this a 10 year pattern for them?? The parent company is called Entu but apparently there is no new name for them yet.
So Penicuik and Jobs Worth Doing will get to continue trading under these names but will now no longer fix or repair any work completed before 31 August 2017 without charging for it. (why would we pay a second time for the complete botch job to be fixed?????)
Trading Standards here we come.....
