I have placed an order for a coffee machine (Philips 5400 Series Bean to Cup coffee machines) I paid in full recieved an email from philips thanking me for the order. Next day i recieved an email cancelling the order from philips. I called the customer servis not based in the UK, number difficult to find and raised a complaint about them taking my money and within 24 hours cancelling the order. After being on the phone for over an hour. I replaced the order paid AGAIN (awaiting the refund from order 1 £395 that i had not recieved yet) I yet again recieved a confirmation of order. Today i recieved another email cancelling order 2. I feel philips dont want to sell me a coffee machine. I have been back in contact with customer services on 0207 6604440 and I am awaiting an email reference trying to order it for the 3rd time. My wife really likes the machine otherwise I would have given up and gone elsewhere....

My expensive steam iron had developed a fault after nearly two years of using. Luckily for me, just before the warranty ran out. So, I was sent a replacement by Philips- a brand new steam iron, exactly the same one. Unfortunately, the replacement broke down as well, after 22 months of using, it had stopped heating up. And that was game over. Philips said, that the replacement's warranty ran out a long time ago, because the replacement warranty started not when it was sent to me but when the original product (the very first steam iron) was purchased by me. How silly is that, that the brand-new replacement does not come with its own warranty. They had offered me some discount on a new iron, but thanks. I will go for another brand. Hopefully it will last longer than 2 years.
