“Sale and purchase with no chain should be less than 6months somehow PMPL has managed to exceed this. This solicitors good at one thing being consistently bad and full of excuses.
It's unfortunate that I didn't properly research before signing to this solicitors, resulting in a delay of nearly six months for my purchase and sale. While the solicitors have been polite, the consistent delays are unacceptable. It feels like managing a fourth job as I navigate selling a flat, dealing with the management company, PMPL , and the buyer’s solicitor. Despite constant follow-ups, progress has been minimal, and my mortgage is set to expire soon, leaving me just a month to complete the process—a timeline that seems increasingly unrealistic.
The situation is exasperated by the discovery that my case was left unattended for two months, with no action taken. Blame has been assigned to protracted searches, yet these were completed within a few weeks. Numerous excuses have been provided, including instances of extremely poor practices, such as using unreliable communication methods. Notably, an attempt to contact the management company using what was clearly an incorrect email address, leading to a lack of response that went unquestioned.
Additionally, when requesting a callback, I was informed that they couldn’t comply due to a lack of headsets, which is quite perplexing given that a phone can function without one. Despite being told the delays were due other solicitor’s lack of response, I have reason to believe this is inaccurate. This entire experience has been frustrating and poorly managed, highlighting significant inefficiencies within the process.

“Nearly ended up homeless and the buyers very close to pulling out of the sale because of them, took 5 months for a newbuild house and no chains! Constantly made mistakes, never responded to emails and when you called you’d get an inexperienced admin officer tell you the solicitor will call back which never happened! Had to call every single day to check they were actually working on my file which they never were! Extremely frustrating, time consuming and actually painful to have them as your solicitor! They were rude, sent me documents which weren’t even related to my case and never apologised! Me and my buyers ended up doing the majority of the work ourselves - making phone calls to the council and arranging for management company documents etc. I don’t think PMPL actually did ANY work! Even passing the matter onto a manager didn’t help as they are just as useless if not worse! Avoid at all costs!!!”
“Unbelievably slow. Didn't answer emails, took 15 minutes to answer the phone. Made mistakes and slow to correct. Eventually completed. Offered me a coffee for a review but never gave it to me. Now I'm being fined by HMRC because PM properties didn't pay stamp duty on time.”
