The mentoring was unreal. My tutor gave me feedback I still think about now, months later. It made me feel seen, not just as a student, but as a thinker.

The best part wasn’t the learning, though that was brilliant. It was feeling understood, appreciated, and challenged all at once. I came home braver. I think I found my people.

My daughter came back from the summer with a notebook full of thoughts from each site they visited. I read them, stunned at her maturity. She described how a single statue in a public square connected to her philosophy class. Another entry was about a cathedral, and how the guide related its structure to engineering concepts. She also mentioned a heated group discussion after visiting a political landmark. These cultural outings were much more than school trips. They were an intellectual and emotional journey. I hadn’t expected such depth. Quintus gave her this gift, and we’re so grateful.

One of the best parts was learning to lead without needing to be loud. We had a workshop on silent leadership. We used body language and listening rather than talking. I found that powerful. I never thought I could be a leader before. Now I know I can.

I expected classroom learning, but I didn’t expect to walk through centuries of history. During one of our excursions, we went to a medieval chapel. The tutor linked the architecture to our philosophy class. That moment stuck with me. We also toured galleries and watched live performances that connected with our literature module. It made everything so real. I’d never visited a country outside Belgium before. The blend of culture, learning, and exploration was unlike anything I’d known. I felt both like a tourist and a scholar. These cultural outings helped me understand how learning exists beyond books. It made me excited for university. It felt like every street had something to teach us. It made me curious in a new way. Now, I always pay attention to the story behind places.
