Raru has filed for liquidation. Those that have spent alot of money. Contact your banks as visa/mastercard has 120day consumer protection act and they might be able to reverse the funds. for other claims Send email to liquidation Vaughan@vaughanulyate.co.za. Good Luck

I had used Raru for years, and they had always been very reliable. In early 2022 I placed an order, which was for 4 items. Apparently, 2 items arrived quickly, but they were waiting for the remainder of the order. So, I did the same. Again 5 items, 2 arrived very quickly. The outstanding orders I have with Raru are total over R5 000. I then requested that the items that had arrived be dispatched so long. I was told that that would be no problem. Shortly afterwards the website said that the 4 items had been shipped. None of them ever reached me, and I now doubt that they were ever at the Raru warehouse at all. I asked for an update. I got a standard "We are talking to our suppliers". And the "shipped" items were ignored. Shortly afterwards the Raru site stopped taking orders. Like I said, I have over R5 000 worth of outstanding orders. The items that the Raru website lists as having "shipped" were clearly never at the Raru warehouse at all. When I ordered 4+ items in a single order, it was said that 2 had arrived, but the order wouldn't be shipped until the whole order had arrived. And Raru's site even says that items have been delivered to me, when they know that they have not. This is a nasty experience. The money lost. Birthday presents for people never arriving. The sense of betrayal. This wasn't a fly-by-night operation. I had had years of totally satisfied interactions with Raru. So, I'm out of pocket, I never got the items I ordered, people who I'd told I would get items for them are disappointed in me, and Raru either just brushed me off, or claimed that they had delivered items to me when they had not. And now, they are down. How many people did this happen to? How much money did Raru take, knowing they had no intention of fulfilling those orders? What happened to make Raru go from a trusted, respected supplier to what it ultimately became? How can these people look at themselves in the mirror without being disgusted and ashamed?

I am still waiting for items I've ordered from RARU about a year ago. They kept giving me excuses for not being able to deliver my items. They also did not refund me, as requested. Now, suddenly, their website is down. I am considering laying charges of theft against RARU at my nearest police station. Hopefully all clients who had the same experience will also lay charges against RARU.

They used to be brilliant, but now it's a mess They list items they can't source but also work on a bulk order business model. The problem comes in that some of their stuff is very niche (like really old bundles of games for consoles). There is no reasonable way that they can wait for several people to bulk order an obscure decade old game. They always go over the shipping time estimate without any communication. If you email them they say "2 more weeks". After two weeks, they do the same. They recently lost an order in transit from the supplier for me, I had the option to reorder but declined (this was also the first time that they actually contacted me first from their side). I asked for a refund, they put credit on my Raru account. They quoted the electronic communications and transactions act and told me they have 30 business days to refund me. I waited for that time frame, nothing happened and no one contacted me. I emailed them once again (please note they currently do not have a call center or customer service available via calls, using covid restrictions as an excuse when our country has dropped it about 6 months ago already), they said they will contact me when they hear back from the refunds department. Another month went by without any communication, so I emailed again. Same generic response about waiting on the refunds department. So now it's been 6 months after I placed the order. No item, no refund, no communication. I even contacted the payment platform that I used for the order and they even told Raru to refund me, which simply got ignored (they emailed the owner)
