“First and last time to airbnb with this Company. Unit needs tons of updates, pictures were deceiving or old. The place smelled musky and humid, there was stains all over the cushions & pillows smelled old. They won't let you check in strictly until 4pm because it takes a full day to clean according to them, but once we got in, the floors were full of crumbs, the kitchen cabinets were dirty, the bathtub knobs had mold, the kitchen sink was leaking through the cabinet into the floor (smelled like meldew) it was hot even with the ac on. Ontop of all, yhipou have to pay $50-75 to register for parking at the Golf Villa ontop of their price of airbnb rental. We had a great time at the beach and pool, otherwise the place of stay was disappointing. We have stayed in better places for the amount of money!”
“They WILL NOT let you post any negative reviews. Horrible !!! We have stayed in this area many times and, given that The Q at Costa Del Sol Mirimar Beach FL was $1,200 more than the townhouse we rented in the complex next-door last year, we expected a significantly higher level of quality. Based on both the price and the advertised photos, we anticipated a much nicer property. Unfortunately, the accommodations did not meet those expectations.
The unit was roughly half the size of our previous rental. The dishes were a random assortment of leftover items, and the overall condition was unacceptable. The unit was extremely dirty—dust covered the walls, floors, and baseboards, the curtains were blackened, the furniture was stained and chipping, and the floors were so filthy that our socks turned black.
Beyond being disappointing, the lack of cleanliness raised serious health and sanitation concerns. Roaches were found in the bedrooms and bathrooms, splatters of who knows what was on many walls, and all utensils and dishes had to be washed before use.”
“Simply awful. When the Governor of Florida CLOSED THE STATE TO TRAVELERS DURING COVID AND WE COULDN'T GET IN AT OUR EXPECTED ARRIVAL TIME, realjoy denied us a refund! Wow. They said they would rebook us. What about people who are out of work and need food more than a vacation? Well, I finally got to take my much needed vacation. It was awful. Thankfully, I had plenty of time to read all the negative reviews and was prepared for dirty sheet as I had packed laundry soap. Upon arriving we checked the beds....my pillow smelled like dirty hair! I went to the front desk of Pelican Beach resorts and was told "No laundry swaps". Great. After driving 11 hours, I get to do laundry on my first night of vacation! Next, the toilets did not flush completely. Ewwww. The shower in the master bath backed up not once but twice. The dryer vent popped out. The master bedroom carpet was filthy...stained and thread bare. Really needed a good cleaning at the very least but was ready for replacement. The photos of the secondary bedroom were misleading....too small. They told us no beach rentals and we had to bring our own. Fine. We did. Come to find they did have rentals....very pricey ones. Thought we could put our chairs at the water's edge...nope. Their was a sign saying we had to sit behind the beach rentals! We complied until the end when we noticed other people were not following the rules. When I asked the beach service about this, I was told it was securities problem. What security. So we broke the rules and put our chairs by the waters edge and nothing was said. The beach was filthy too. Cig butts, plastic lids with straws from drinks, kids toys..just trashy like the people who stayed here. The last night there, get this, someone defacated in the pool which had to be closed and sanitized! Now that being said...that is the type of people who visit Pelican beach resort and has nothing to do with Realjoy. Or should I say "Real joke and no joy." This organization is money driven and not interested in providing clean accomodations with reasonable policies DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. They will most likely not be in business much longer unless they make some changes. Many other options out there....stay away!”
