I was looking for a plate that was a mirror of a plate I have on a classic car. I looked many times (for a number of years) on Regtransfers and DVLA but this was not a existing plate. I requested the plate be issued by DVLA which they kindly agreed to but I would have to purchase through there auction.
They gave me notice of the auction and I bid. It wasn't an expensive plate being for a 1983 vehicle. Every bid I placed I was out bid by another and as expected I didn't win. A few weeks later it appears on the Regtransfers site at four times what it went for at auction. I guess that my searches are recorded and they bought this knowing someone wanted this plate. I have bee hounded by calls to see if I would like to purchase. My answer was not at hat price. they have since made two reductions in price of this plate with a lot more to come.
Very underhand, and now they are stuck with a fairly uninteresting plate.”
“Plate was available on their website. I was hounded by calls about the reg after making an enquiry.
The plate then went on an action, I placed a winning bid and then was told the plate was back on the website for sale.
I ended up purchasing the plate for the asking price from their website. I ordered the physical plates so everything would drive at the same time. Only to be told they had already sold the plate to someone else.
Really quite unacceptable. And a complete waste of time and money.”

“i used regtrasfers recently to purchase new plate for my wifes birthday,the purchase went snmothloy its the after sales im having issues with they have reaptedly spammed me with hundreds of emails and text messages ignoring multiple requests to cease their continious marketing they just add random names to their email domain so you contiously block the mails and they just add new email accounts JUST IN CASE REGTRANSFERS DONT KNOW THIS. THIS IS A BREAM OF COMMUNICATIONS LAW AND IS ILLEGAL so for all their efforts im now going to leave really bad reviews for them warning any potential customers what will follow if you purchase from this bunch BEWARE.”

“Avoid this company. They have a team of salespeople who have no interst in the buyer.
We negotiated and agreed on a price, creating a binding legal contract. We waited to pay the agreed price.
Then we were told the seller wouldn't sell for sentimental reasons.
The plate stayed on sale.
As of today (16 September 2023) the plate remains on sale, even though we already reached an agreement to buy it, but it is now listed at a higher price.”

“Agreed to sell my number plate on 4th August and I was told it would be completed in 7 to 10 working days. I have rang them twice now and I keep having to chase up and call them. I have spoken to Arun Johal twice now and he said he will get in touch with me with updates and I hear nothing. Arun Johal is the sales person who has sold my plate but now I have lost confidence with reg transfers. It feels as thought I have lost my plate and money. I am not happy with the Service from Reg transfers.”
“Update: Totally incompetent. Phoned Tuesday 14th December, found out that they hadn’t ordered the replacement plate. They assured me they will get the new plate sent out guaranteed next day delivery and refund me for the price of the plates, which they did. I confirmed that the number plate was 21in x 6in. It arrived guaranteed delivery at 10.50 am today Wednesday 15th December and the WRONG SIZE yet again. So 14 days on and still no satisfactory outcome. I will never use RegTransfers again. Fortunately the plates from other Company have arrived.”
“Less than honest.
My daughter bought a plate advertised with Regtransfers in good faith.
Finance was approved and checked out. They then said the plate was no longer available and to call them.
Did that, they came up with some excuse that the owner had since died and they couldn't take it any further.
The plate was still advertised with other brokers during this time at a far higher price.
Clearly this was a mis-price but instead of admitting this they rolled out an excuse that is hard to argue against.
Plate was removed from their website during this time then a week later it appeared at the far higher price.
The worst thing any company can do is be dishonest to their customers, even worse when they embellish the dishonesty by making up excuses such as the owner has died.
Fess up, admit a mis-price and we all move on.
My daughter now has a hard credit search against her name because of the incompetence of this company.
Always check a plate you want on the DVLA website first, see if it's available at a far cheaper cost.
If it's a private seller advertising through a broker like regtransfers then good luck, the price you see may not be the price you pay and you may get spun a fairy-tale if it's not available at the price they advertised it for.
The plate is still advertised on their site at over double what my daughter bought it for.
If you are after a plate and you have to go through a broker, then do not use these guys, they are simply not honest.

“They asked several times over the period if I would reduce my asking price and then offered to buy my heritage numberplate after which I was shocked to find that it was being advertised for four times the price that they paid me. Not a fair transaction by the Company.”
