Now on searching for vegan / vegetarian restaurants or menu options the Royal Baths Chinese Restaurant didn't come up on google but it should have done. It really should have done! We just happened to walk-by when see noticed the grandeur of the building but then without thinking it's an option for us (vegan/veggie couple) to notice the menu having a whole vegetarian page, to which half is vegan. So we popped in and got the warmest welcome by the manageress, who was very informative about the vegetarian options and the waiters also helped to changed some of the vegetarian dishes to a vegan dish without any hassle. In fact all the stuff all were just helpful and warm in their conversation, even the university student working there had a wonderful pleasant manner. Hope she does well for second year at Uni. We've been there two nights in a row, and considering the limited choices the few restaurants that had a vegan/veggie option, this restaurant was a winner just to have a choice of dishes. They changed egg noodles to rice noodles for one of my dishes and could happily change some of the rice dishes to also accommodate my vegan needs. Good wine choices too, both Chablis and Sancerre where nice pick for vegetarian dishes. The interior is also spectacular, as it should be being mid-Victorian public building, but nice to see most of it despite the change of business use. Daytime you would at least see the stained glass Windows. We were delighted to find this venue, hope other vegan / veggies also find it as enjoyable to eat there as we did.
