The Location is fanatstic right on the foot of the Alhambra in a beautiful, old house. Reyes and Gianluca were wonderful hosts who really made us feel at home. Yoga with Carmen out on the terrace was very refreshing and relaxing. I also enjoyed spending time with the group. I think we were a great mix of people. And Granada is so beautiful that you don't want to leave anymore. All in all wonderful holidays that I hope to repeat one day.

The charming Samayama villa is a wonderful oasis, perfect for quiet, relaxation and calm. It was unbelievable to think minutes away from the tranquillity is the life and bustle of a wonderful city with so much to explore on the doorstep of the villa. My wonderful week of yoga was made so much better by the lovely people I met; fellow yogis who became friends, Carmen who was such a calming influence on us and our fantastic hosts Reyes and Luca, who showed kindness and such wonderful hospitality. A wonderful week, with memories I will never forget!

Last summer was spent in blissful relaxation in Granada with samaya fitness. The yoga retreat was beyond all expectations, the food was glorious, the yoga was challenging and my own practice improved greatly. The extra activities were also awesome, Sierra Nevada trekking, Alhambra, tango shows and dining out! The best thing about my experience was the people, our hosts went over and above to ensure we were having a great time. The beautiful chickas on the retreat with me are now friends for life. I would recommend this experience to everyone, regardless of your yoga ability.

Lovely opportunity to meet with other yoga enthusiasts in an unique setting - the room we used as a studio at the Jamyang centre was truly inspiring! Great introduction to Pilates too, and - of course- delicious and nutritious food. Thank you Team Samyama!

I had a truly wonderful time at a Yoga and Fitness Week in July 2015. I gained a lot of strength through the different forms of yoga, the food was outstanding and healthy and instructors and guests alike were lovely, friendly people. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful week at Samyama in August last year. Never done yoga before, but we had a brilliant teacher who guided us through some quite complicated positions beautifully. The weather was fantastic and the food was beautifully prepared - the breakfast was especially good. And it was great to be so close to some good bars too! We met some great people and we are still in touch.

As a mature woman my experience of the week I spent with Samyama was one of comaderie and fun. The Samyama ethos of understanding that this very precious week is part of a summer holiday was essential to the overall enjoyment of the week. Let there be no misunderstanding the yoga and fitness training was excellent, started on time and the staff were always available if there were any questions. I can highly recommend the whole experience.

Samyama was my first yoga retreat experience, and arriving initially, going up the steps to the retreat - I had no idea what to expect. But as you reach the top, the views are breathtaking, and it's easy to see the charm of the villa where the retreat takes place. The yoga lessons were brilliant, because we are in a small group, and sometimes with two teachers who come by to adjust your position, and give you guidance - but also because they take place on a terrace with stunning views of the old town of Grenada. The retreat made me remember how much I like yoga, but besides the yoga I loved getting to know and sharing the experience with a whole new group of people and discovering a beautiful city in between the classes.

Samyama Fitness have a fantastic authentic Spanish retreat in the heart of the beautiful city of Granada. It’s nestled right under the Alhambra Palace & has great views whilst being tucked away enough to be peaceful in its tranquil gardens and on the terrace, plus around the refreshing swimming pool. However, it’s also just a short walk down the hill into Plaza Nueva and Granada old town where there’s so much to do and see whether it’s shopping, sight-seeing or a drink with some tapas to watch the world go by. I’ve loved both my trips to the retreat because you can do as much or as little as you want with the classes, the staff are all so knowledgeable and helpful they make it a real experience and everything is very relaxed so it feels like a proper holiday. Also the food is excellent and even though I’m an avid meat eater back at home I found all the meals both delicious and filling. Whilst I felt better from having a break from eating meat I did allow myself a treat of some Iberico ham at the end of the week along with a glass of wine at my favourite tapas bar Bodegas Castaneda, a bustling atmospheric place full of locals & tourists, just off Plaza Nueva. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to combine a yoga retreat, relaxing holiday by the pool and city break with plenty to do all into one trip. I can’t wait to get back there again this summer myself.

I attended a day retreat in London and had a great time! I've only recently started Yoga and hadn't been to anything like this before, so wasn't sure if I'd like it. It was a great day; a good chance to meet like-minded people, practice some yoga and brush up on some cooking skills. Highly recommended.

Professor very good, and listening to the possible problems of each participants. Food quite good, however petit déjeuner a little bit late for us who are used to have it just after getting dow,; for the rest I am not very good, as I was ill during part of that week unfortunately. Also place was well suited to these courses, swimming pool added to that, a very nice garden, lectures, everything was good, weather very good, not yet too hot as it can be in this town, very interesting town Granada which can be visited any time and some entertainments, even from Samyama fitness, whole day, part of day and night. And the participants were all nice, I liked it very much, Excuse my English, I am French

Absolutely fabulous experience! I am definitely not a yoga practitioner and in fact, missed a number of sessions. But the beauty of Samyama is that it truly is YOUR holiday, as Kunle stresses, and you get to do as much or as little as you want. It's all about fun! For me, the extra activities such as the hanging bridges walk, enjoying the amazing baths, experimenting with tapas and exploring the cobblestoned city as well as the Alhambra Palace were fabulous experiences. Oh! And don't forget the shopping! Do yourself a favour and spend a week at Samyama - I'm still raving about my stay to all my Aussie friends and would go back on a flash if the opportunity arose.

Samyama was exceptionally welcoming and friendly during my stay in Granada in 2014. Kunle, Katie and their little daughter are an amazing family and run exceptionally accommodating, relaxed and organised retreats. Kunle is a great cook and I'd hardly eaten outside. There is everything you need so the guests have a great time. Our yoga teacher Gillie was fabulous and we all were looking forward to the practices (even the morning ones!). Highly recommend! Samyama Fitness is a great retreat and a fantastic experience. The villa is simply stunning and words really cannot explain how it feels to stay in such a beautiful location, with such amazing views, it's the perfect mix of tranquil retreat and fun holiday. I would recommend this retreat to anyone. It was my first retreat and I was a bit nervous but there was not need as everything was perfect. The yoga was suitable for me and took place on a terrace overlooking the Old Town. The staff were amazing as was the food, it was such a great experience that I attending a Samyama 1 day retreat in London which was also amazing and great to meet up with some friends that I made last summer. I will definitely be going back.

I met some of the most wonderful people on my trip to Agua Amarga. It was only their second week of hosting a retreat there and they had found a great, charming place for us to stay, with a lovely swimming pool. The hotel provided a delicious daily breakfast of fruits, homemade yoghurts, pastries, breads, pates, cheese spreads and cakes. As it was a hotel (unlike their Granada retreat), we got to eat dinner at one of the local restaurants where we had a choice of a starter, then a choice of a meat, fish or vegetarian meal plus a desert. They were great and let us order chips and wine etc if we wanted (which we did most nights). The only thing was that we were eating very late often around 9.30-10pm and I would prefer to eat much earlier - straight after the evening yoga session so that we could go to bed earlier. Carmen is a fantastic yogi, with the most calming influence over you. Her Ayurveda workshops were fascinating and if you have an interest in deepening your understanding of this I highly recommend them. For the morning sessions we opted for doing them on the beach at sunrise. Although it's tricky practicing yoga on sand, it's so worth it for the beautiful sunrise you get to be part of. If you're more into a faster paced vinyasa or ashtanga style or wanting to really deepen your current practice you're likely to find it a bit slow and like going back to basics as there will probably be beginners in your class but ask for alternative options and Carmen will give them to you. I've been on a few retreats now and although I didn't really develop my yoga further in the way I'd hoped, the break completely relaxed me and the people I met made me laugh and enjoy every day.

It is not uncommon for it to take a while to switch off from the daily grind when starting a holiday. But from the moment I stepped through the door of the Carmen de Santa Ana retreat, I was made to feel at home. The warm welcome from the team in the beautiful surroundings of the villa was enough to dispel any worries. The day time schedule is yours to decide, from relaxing by the pool, to walking tours and visits to the Alhambra - you are in total control of your time. Twice daily yoga accommodated all levels and was personal to ability. The opportunity to experience different types of yoga was an added bonus of the retreat and one that makes Samyama unique. The location is superb; just a stones throw away from central Granada, faultless views across Albaicin, lush gardens with the soothing sound of water creating a sanctuary on the hillside. But what really makes this retreat special is the wonderful team behind it whose kindness, knowledge and energy have stayed with me even once home.
