“Is not bad meet some good people on there but with linden labs seaming to false termination account like they did to mine it's not worth it in my opinion I will miss the friends I made on there but having my account dropped for something I did not do is just complet bs cuz apparently hanging out with someone who is rping as someone with dwarfism/dwarfed is not allowed and the company it's self is why it's getting a one star.”

“Second Life is a virtual world that has been captivating users for years, offering a unique and expansive experience that's unlike any other online platform. While it may not be for everyone, it certainly has its strengths that make it worth exploring.
Pros:
Endless Creativity: Second Life is a haven for creative minds. The ability to design and personalize avatars, virtual spaces, and even create unique virtual items provides an unparalleled level of creative freedom.
Virtual Socialization: In Second Life, you can connect with people from all over the world. The social aspect is a significant draw, allowing you to form friendships, join communities, and engage in various social activities.
Diverse Communities: There are countless communities within Second Life, catering to a wide range of interests. Whether you're into role-playing, art, fashion, or something else entirely, you're likely to find like-minded individuals to connect with.
Economy: The virtual economy in Second Life is robust, with residents buying and selling virtual items, services, and even real estate. This can be an enticing aspect for those interested in virtual entrepreneurship.
Cons:
Learning Curve: Second Life has a steeper learning curve compared to some other online platforms. Navigating the interface and understanding the various features can be a bit daunting for newcomers.
System Requirements: To fully enjoy Second Life, a decent computer with good graphics capabilities is recommended. This may limit accessibility for some users.
Virtual World Limitations: While Second Life is vast and diverse, it's still a virtual world with its limitations. The graphics, while impressive, may not match the realism of some newer virtual reality platforms.
Inactivity: Depending on the community and the regions you visit, you may encounter periods of inactivity or deserted virtual spaces.”
“Second Life / Linden Labs at one point when an investigator decided to block the entire household from accessing SL. I had other house members that were not associated with my accounts unable to access their Second Life paid accounts. When he was in chat to resolve the situation the Second Life representative not only gave him my signon/account name he was told exactly how much I owed. Second Life representative did not ask if I was available to authorize release of this information to him, I know as I was sitting in the same room.
Now, with respects to the outstanding balance that caused the denial of service. Earlier this year I did run behind. I "owned" property and Linden Labs charges for maintenance. The dollar amount was 510.56. That brought me current. Within 2 weeks I had another charge for 255.00 ( the correct property) wrong dollar amount. *The odds even dollar amounts let alone dropping the change does not add up." But, then I let it go through.
Also, the maintenance fees are billed on a different day. When I aquired the second property, it was purchased 10 days or so after the the first.
This was the first property that is billed. I've had the Second Life property for a full year. The transactions posted to my bank account monthly statements. I have the bank send hard copy statements.
Within 2 weeks later, in the same month I get a notification from my bank that a debit for 310.93 to Second Life wasn't going through. $310.93 is the TOTAL amount of both properties.
That's when I had my bank dispute the $255.00. As I said above, this was not the correct amount, given I had in hand a year's worth paper back up.
During the Second Life issue, I started to experience issues with transactions on my bank account for unauthorized charges posted.
The release of my personal financial information in addition to releasing my sign on information, (he could search me in Second Life search to a person that was calling about his Second Life account. This action alone is a breach of my security it had put my safety at risk. This is a flagrant action against my Right to Privacy, including breach of said act.”
“Second Life. A game about gambling, kidnapping, rape, torture, murder, and cannibalism. If you just want to play as a child avatar and avoid all that, you will constantly be harassed and targeted and eventually have all your money and products stolen by Linden Labs when they ban you for any BS reason they can come-up with, no matter how many years you've played, how much you've followed the ToS, and how supportive to the community you've been. Your appeals will fall on deaf ears.”
“Update... I tried many times in vain to appeal the "age play" ban, tried to plead and even told them I'd make sure to refrain from being...myself. Sad isn't it? I have a very youthful, childlike personality despite being 39 years old. Somehow, they decided I wasn't allowed to be that way, to have attraction to certain fetishes/role-playing which are 100%legal in real life as long as both people are 18+. I now know how homosexual people felt back in the days they were discriminated...So unbelievably sad to witness that from a company based in California, a liberal, very blue place. Disgusting and discriminatory of them to ban someone because of their sexual inclinations. I lost everything... Thousands of dollars over the years there, my remaining 20 000L they stole, my premium membership, my friends, memories, my joyful hobby to cope with my real life illness. EVERYTHING gone in a flash second, without any warning. Heartless company. Shame on you.”
“I was roleplaying in the Amville colorado sim when this girl started following me around and harassing me. I asked the sim admins to intervene. All they did was ban me. There is no way to report this behavior to sl/ ll. This girl is running around second life telling lies about me and I can't do anything about it”
“Linden Lab is Aiding and Abetting Criminal Activity:
Millions of real life dollars are siphoned from the Second Life music community yearly....without any royalties paid to rightful copyright owners for use of their material...nor are there any real life taxes imposed....all the while....Linden Lab profits from transfer fees for out-going/laundered money.....and music venues wish to act like hotshots while they harbor entertainers who think they are above the law and avoid paying federal taxes on millions of virtual world (Second Life) income.
Some people believe real life regulations stop at the log in screen entering Second Life
When you speak out against corruption in Second Life....they attempt to flip it around...make you out to be the bad guy...YOU are the criminal.......your name entered into ban list all around the grid.
Second Life has become an evil empire full of corruption, greed and trolls....There are much better things to do than to consolidate yourself with a bunch of a--holes.

A lot of real life money revolves around virtual world music venues....hiring of entertainers ($20.00 per hour...sometimes a lot more than that.....plus tips.........some earning up to and well over $400.00 per week in real life income)....dance animations, guitars, pianos, drum sets....etc....venues furniture....blah, blah, blah. It cost money to buy virtual world lindens (money) and then it cost again to transfer lindens (money) back out into the real world.
Linden Lab does NOT publicize "live music" events in Second Life by way of videos. I would assume this is a way to keep their money laundering operation under wraps.

Second Life appeals to a lot of hedonistic people with little or no respect for the human race or individual.

It's all fun and games in the Second Life music community as long as entertainers can launder 1000's upon 1000's of real life dollars and venues can also panhandle guest who attend these virtual world shows. Why should Linden Lab complain....they're making a profit off money transfer fees.”
