“I'm in a position where i no longer can afford the subscription. Receive notifications that it was about to renew and in followed this closely cause i had planned not to renew it for another year. Numerous emails was sent by them warning myself that my business website will expire. Then an email notifying me that my business website has expired. On the day the last day to renew the subscription i received a text message, notifying me that the website was "closed and has expired. To reactivate, please click" the link. I thought i was in the clear just to find them withdrawing the money the next day. No they blaming "auto-renewal" option selected.”
“For a supposed free easy website building page…Site123 is not user friendly, is not free, we just got snagged for $325/yr subscription that PayPal nor Site123 would refund when we cancelled upon getting a draft on our account which also overdrafted our account. Site123 are thieves and have found a legal way to do it. Buyer Beware!!! Don’t fall for their “free” trap!!!”
“The website building tools and features are very impressive. Overall the product works really well.
However, they have shady ways of dealing with payments and auto renewals. Keep close watch on your account for double charging”
“after reading Harry`s warning review on Trustpilot about Site 123.com Then seeing another on Feefo by Charlotte, equally damning, I decided to publish my own experiences at their hands which were very similar.
I informed Site 123 I would not be renewing my subscription with them when it expired. They said they understood my instruction. Then they began to bombard me with emails, so far about 25 in all, telling me I should renew. I unsubscribed to these nuisance emails and yet they continued to arrive. Worse than this however was the communication of my personal details, a private telephone number to BT, enabling that company to start sending SMS messages at the behest of Site 123 regarding renewal. This was done without my consent; a direct infringement of UK privacy law – the passing to a third party of personal information for marketing or nuisance calls.
Site 123 is created primarily to be simple to use; it is this feature which is exploited to trap unwary people. Second year membership is 50% higher and there are added hidden charges of which you will not be made aware of until they debit your bank account. They NEVER make it obvious they operate automatic renewal and rarely return fees. Tracking codes on some sites DO NOT work and in some cases web sites are not active although they appear to be on the person`s own PC. Site 123.com is run by scammers who have so far evaded the law.
There are obviously others like me who have suffered at the hands of these people. Recommending Site123 for ease of use is fine so long as it is understood this company has a sinister side to it. TRUSTPILOT, FEEFO and GOOGLE and all the respected reviewers should take note you undermine your credibility by publishing reviews which praise Site 123. In all probability these reviews will be written by Site 123 themselves. Be warned, avoid Site123.”
