Please avoid Sterling insurance st all costs especially for learner driver insurance. Set up insurance then had a change of heart the next day as my son's driving test was much sooner than expected. A cancelled online as guidelines instructed 24 hours after setting up. Followed this with a phone call but Sterling insurance would bit discuss the cancellation with me (parent) despite the credit agreement being in my name and said my 17 year old had to call. Followed this up with 3 emails and a call from my son less than 48 hours after setting it up. Sterling insurance tried to make my son keep the insurance and then informed us that we would be charged £36 for cancelling 48 hours after setting up. Disgraceful service. Avoid avoid avoid

Please stay away from this broker, I had a lot of faith in the company but they have disappointed me and my friends. They held a total of 113,000 btc and 600 eth. That's a lot you don't have heart and plan to block me, Scam. No trust, by then i went online because i was so worried looking for a lot of way to to solve the problem that i am going true, that was when i saw a review about a woman Sandra Ava, he connected me to a recovery company EMAIL :: ( m o r r i s m e i h u a (@) g m a i l . c o m ) the process was easy and stressful, this is a review that will help to know what you should do immediately whenever you are being scammed, i have actually lost a lot of my money to this company honestly but To God be the Glory I got it back. All thanks to "" Mrs, Morris Meihua"" you can also contact them If you are having problems with any broker which you are invested on or any website, I promise you they are going to try their best to help you out. This company is admonition. I was able to change the policy from a learners policy to a full policy when my daughter passed her test. You are unable to setup access to the website as it does not work with multiple browsers. I have been told that I am not able now to access the account even though I set it up yesterday. This insurance maybe cheap and there is a reason for it its more hassle than its worth. Do not bother!

Absolute pathetic joke of a company preying on the vulnerable. Find a reputable company and avoid these jokers at all costs. As another reviewer has said 'scam and predatory company extorting money out of new drivers' My son has had his insurance cancelled after a couple of months yet they are demanding a further £140 from him. When I explained that he is autistic and he wouldn't have understood what he was signing up to I was told that this is not their problem but was in fact my fault! Disgusting customer service.

Do not touch them - con artists !! My 18 had a blow k box fitted. If they get 3 alerts there is supposed to be a review but it did t happen and Sterling just cancelled his policy. We had no details at this point about what he had supposed even done to warrant the cancellation (black box dept don’t automatically supply details of speed being undertaken where). Has left my 18 year old with a marker for a cancelled insurance. It’s been a week since this happened and no one has even called me back even though I said I wanted to complain. Now offered new insurance for twice the price. I’ve got an alternative quote from Admiral that is not twice and no black box. A blatant attempt to cancel on an 18 year old who wasn’t even driving that fast just to double his premium. Current quote from Sterling £4.5k on an £800 car !! Will be taking to Financial Services ombudsman.

Absolute nightmare Set up insurance 48hrs ago not due to start for another 3 weeks. Got email saying as bought on line validation checks need to be done (this was fine) following day got text to call and got asked loads questions some like who do I work for (policy not for commuting or business and my occupation / employer has not changed in 7 years!) many more unnecessary questions then got told would go back to verification and I would hear next day. Following day I got another message to call them and yet again same questions which I repeated answers from previous day. Then get told all fine and was sent access to portal. There I see a letter asking for copy of V5 copy of driving licence copy of employer letter and many more items requested. Honestly been made to jump through hoops for a vehicle that has been owned and insured for years by me with no changes. Got fed up and as in cooling off period asked to cancel and get told being charged 34% cancellation fees Please do not waste your time and money on this insurance company

I purchased a policy and paid in full, the next day they asked to contact them, and they told me sorry we can't categorise your vehicle so they cancelled the policy and refund the amount minus £45 pounds as a cancellation fees, this is theft

Refused to accept no claims bonus info (as a screenshot and wanted a letter. Before I could get a letter from my previous insurer they charged me an extra £69. Not a good experience and won’t be renewing when out of contract. Looks good value initially but then extras added on …..annoying.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING CONMEN !!!! I had exactly the same thing, took out a policy only to have them tell me to call over some nonsense matter and try to increase my premium by £200 ! When I declined charged me £85 ‘ admin fee’. Absolutely shameful rip off !!! AVOID ADRIAN FLUX OR STERLING CONMEN

Absolutely awful! Added two markers for cancelled policy for a car I have never owned, second was a voided policy before the policy even started and refused to remove the flag on the system! Didn’t even advise us that the there was flags on the policy causing more issues with other insurers! Poor customer service and out right disgrace. Avoid at all costs, cheaper for a reason because they are useless and rip you off!

It's a scam of an organisation in my opinion. They give you the price and then change it through making you jump through hoops and changing the goalposts with things like trackers from only certain companies, insurance proof needing to be within 1 year (2 is usual in the industry), proof of address, utility bills etc. It's one to stay clear of. Currently contacting the Insurance Ombudsman / FCR and making a formal complaint. I ADVISE ALL CUSTOMERS do the same as it's the only way they can be regulated and prevent more scamming companies doing the same.

Shameful company. Exploit their T&C's mercilessly to inflate premiums, apply additional fees and push you towards unaffordable alternatives at every opportunity. Your only option is to cancel, at which point you realise that they can contractually keep the vast majority of your premium, even after a few short weeks. Look elsewhere online and you'll see this is their common practice. In 35 years (and 70+ cars) I've never encountered a more unscrupulous bunch.

I must admit we are really surprised at any 5 star reviews based on our experience with Sterling Car Insurance. This is our daughters first car and we went with Sterling as they appeared to be the cheapest. Our daughter has been driving with extreme caution as she has a black box fitted from Sterling. A Flux Box. She had 1 caution that was wrong, luckily she checked and called to advise them it was wrong as the speed limit was 40 not 30. They apologised said database was wrong and changed it. I don't think as many young people may check as often as our daughter does and this can directly result in an already high premium going even higher.. Bad form on Sterlings behalf and leaves you quite wary of trusting their product. The car was then in for work in a garage and had tyres changed. The garage was aware she had a black box, we told them when the car was taken in, They had to test drove the car as needed, and we received 2 cautions for driving and an increase in her insurance policy for next year while they had it and were testing it. I though t this would be simple once we explained to them the situation, as the garage said it can happen as they need to check the tyres, I called Sterling advised the situation, told them the car was in the garage she was not driving it, the garage drove it to test drive it (under their own insurance) we have proof the car was in the garage, we have a receipt from that day to show a new tyre was fitted, the garage are also willing to provide written and/or verbal communication, the app clearly shows the car leaving the garage doing a lap back to the garage but Sterling are refusing to take the cautions off. I advised them it was not being driven at this time under their insurance policy, and we have proof, they were extremely unhelpful and told me the cautions would remain I need to take it up with the garage, the garage are also appalled as they drove the car under their own insurance not Sterling and had to test drive it due to the issue it had. They and us are appalled that once an insurance company hear the situation understand the car needs to be test driven, would refuse to remove any cautions from a driver that was not driving the car nor was it being driven under their insurance, I am now in the process of following complaints procedure and will sadly have to take this to the ombudsman. You constantly get text messages saying the black box battery is low even when it has days left before it runs out. The box is rather large, much larger than many of her friends so due to the positioning of the box the wire to charge it has to go right across the wheel so not safe so we charge when the car is parked, again not ideal. I called today to speak to someone was told they are experiencing high volumes of calls i can request a call back but it would be at the end of the week, today is Monday, Sterling really does need to do better. It is so difficult to chose an insurance company for young drivers due to huge costs, but i wish we had gone elsewhere and i hope this review helps someone else not make the same mistake we did by using Sterling Car insurance.
