“Significant sizing issue and unsatisfactory resolution process I purchased 50 × 20kg bags of Flat Silver Cobbles advertised as 60–100mm, costing £757.79. After opening the first two bags, I found what appeared to be a substantial quantity of significantly smaller material. I stopped opening the remaining 48 bags, photographed the contents against a tape measure and contacted Stone Warehouse. I fully appreciate that natural aggregates vary in shape and size and that grading does not mean every dimension of every stone will measure 60–100mm. My concern is the quantity of apparently undersized material, rather than the occasional smaller or split stone. Stone Warehouse has offered to collect the remaining product and says that if its own assessment concludes the sizing is incorrect, it will refund the full £757.79. If it determines that the product is within range, however, £55 haulage would be deducted. This is the part I find particularly unsatisfactory. There is already a genuine disagreement about whether the supplied product meets the advertised grading, yet the proposed resolution involves Stone Warehouse receiving the goods back, assessing its own product and determining whether it is at fault. To be fair, the customer-service representative has remained polite throughout and offered to video their assessment. My criticism is of the product and resolution process, not the individual member of staff. For a purchase of nearly £760 this has been a very disappointing experience. I will update this review if Stone Warehouse subsequently resolves the matter satisfactorily.”

“Took a day off work to take delivery, the stone did not come to the next day, loss of a days holiday. Called and arranged for an afternoon delivery the next day, it got delivered in the morning, the delivery driver dumped the stone where we could not shut the back gates. 800 kg, not easy to move, Basically, We would not use them again.”

“Mis- sold boulders. Thought we’d get 200-300m as stipulated but when arrives some were 500m!? Which the neighbours didn’t like and was breach of our deeds. They wouldn’t take them back without charging us £84 even though we were happy to substitute with another product.”

“Wonderful website with a large selection. Unfortunately once you get there they won't show them to you. You are literally told they will not move slabs for you to view. Rude and uncooperative manager would not allow me to look at the slabs their sales person had sent me even though I had visited the warehouse twice and was there during the correct time for viewing and purchasing the slabs. I could not pick one out. Only the top slab was selectable, HIS WORDS.”
