“I have a classic car. We live in Ireland.
We are retired and sold our house to move into a smaller one.
Our current home does not have a garage, nor room for one.
I rented space in a parking garage, but the owner moved out.
The car now has to stay outside.
A "Stormforce" cover was the solution. It is fully breathable and totally weatherproof.
The car is under the cover with an electric dehumidifier inside.
The car remains dry, inside and out.
We are now coming to the end of life of its second cover.
After 3 years it starts to delaminate and loses much of its protective ability.
This is the only reason why I gave it a rating of four, but about £ 350 every 3 years is actually very good value.
The car has not deteriorated over the past 6 years.
I will need to contact CoverZone for a new one before the end of the year.”
“The cover Seems to have developed the same issue as other people have described in that it leaves a white powdery residue and is no longer weatherproof. I can't fault the fitment of the cover just disappointed in the longevity of it.”
“Bought for my MK3 focus RS ,it's extremely baggy and flaps about in the slightest breeze, obviously they have not made one Pacific to this car, first one lasted less than a year before falling to bits, was replaced under warranty but second one is even more baggy ,so very worried about paint being worn away I've stopped using it .”
“I ordered a tailored fit cover, for outdoor use, a "Stormforce" cover. Its baggy and loose at both ends and in the slightest breeze it blow off. If it wasnt for the tie straps, also poor, it would have blown away. This was a Yellow wind warning, the lightest there is. Several times I have come out to find the cover blown over, and the car soaking. For 30% of the cost I could get a cover that does a better job. VERY poor”
“More than happy with my Stormforce PLUS Car Cover for my Fiat 500 bought from Coveryourcar.co.uk last year. The 2 year warranty is a year more than any other company seems to give on an outdoor cover so its a no brainer for me.”
“The same defect as complained of by other reviewers --- after about 13 months white powder on the car ...lack of waterproofing ....and the top surface degrading - they have just given me another cover replacement -- I will post my review in a years time...but judging by these other reviews ..I'm not hopeful....I wish I had read these reviews before buying one...”
“I have had 2 of the stormforce ALL weather covers for my BMW. Fitting was ok, not brilliant though. Both only lasted a couple of years before failing. Holes and a fine power which had to be cleaned off. I have changed to a cheaper cover which actually keeps the car dry, fits better and cost a quarter of the Stormforce.
I would definitely NOT recommended Stormforce.”
“I bought a Stormforce cover for my Porsche Boxster from CoverYourCar.co.uk in Nov 2019. It fitted very well and, I thought, was a good quality cover; I was pleased with it.
HOWEVER, just like many of the other reviews here, the top layer started to disintegrate after about two years of occasional, short-term use through Spring to Autumn (the car goes into storage for the winter months).
I took the matter up with CoverYourCar earlier this year but got a very unsatisfactory and unhelpful response: the warranty had expired and that was all there was to it. Although they also volunteered UV damage as the cause and stated... "Like any fabric left outdoors, it will degrade over time"
This is clearly at odds with the marketing blurb on the website which states: "100% Ultra Ultraviolet Resistant fabric..."
So, be warned, these Stormforce covers are not fit for purpose after only a short period of use outdoors.
By contrast, I must say that I also have a Voyager car cover from the same company which fits equally very well and, after 12 months, seems to be more durable and is more resistant to UV, having a silver finish, (albeit of a thinner and less breathable fabric) - time will tell... fingers crossed.”
“I purchased one of these stormforce covers in October 2019.
I noticed that the boot lid paint had been discolored about a year later but I didn't blame the cover at the time. I used the cover again last year and this year but now I have noticed that the cover is no longer waterproof.
You can see from the pictures that the top coating has been peeling away and the water is leaking through.
It comes with a two year guarantee but for a premium priced cover I would have expected it to last much longer. It seems that these covers are only designed to barely last two years.”
“cover had parts flaking off.i was told it was sun damage.they replaced the cover and within 6 months it happened again and lets all rain water soak through..”
“Absolute rubbish!!!!!
Water got under the cover settled on the boot of my Nissan fig. Has discoloured the paint!!!
Having to have it re sprayed!! They are rubbish”
“Like other reviewers, I've had two of these covers recently, one of which was replaced under Warranty as the outer layer started to degrade.
In addition, the inner lining tends to disintegrate well within the first
year, leaving the car covered in a white dust which means that the car
requires cleaning after every use.
I can not therefore recommend Stormforce Car Covers - please see attached photographs.”
“Don't waste your money, buying one of these storm force covers, my one started to tear and crack, also I had a white powder dropping out of it, unfortunately the guarantee has just expired”
“I have purchased a car cover from Stormforce, but unfortunately doesn't even last a year. Keeps breaking and tearing off It doesn't protect the car fully because after staying in the sun just starts peeling off the layers. It was my worse ever experience because it doesn't even last a year it doesn't match all the description. I really regreat purchasing this car cover.
Not HAPPY AT ALL purchasing this product I wish I haven't waste my money nearly 200 pounds spend for nothing. Please think carefully before you purchased you will definately regreat it.”
“I’ve bought 2 Stormforce covers, both of which disintegrated before the two year warranty period. The fit was fine for my 1962 Lotus Elite but the sun seems to make the outer membrane rot and become porous. I’ve just had a discount on a third cover but I really wanted a replacement under warranty as I’d not used the cover until 4months after purchase - but as this put me 2 months outside the warranty period they wouldn’t replace it.
I wouldn’t pay £160 odd for another.”
“Excellent car cover. Purchased the 4-layered luxury car cover for my vehicle.
Cover fits snug, does not flap in the wind. Hasn't caused any issues to the paintwork in terms of scratching, rubbing etc and the car is left looking as good as it was prior to covering it. Well worth spending the extra.”
“Have purchase two covers over the past 7 years to keep my vehicles protected from adverse weather conditions keeping my vehicles looking in top condition like new have purchase a replacement recently due to changing my 7 year old immaculate diesel Nissan for a 2nd hand hybrid .
My old cover is still in top condition and will sell on .
Their storm force company dispatched the goods and they arrived the next day free postage. Excellent product and hard wearing to keeping your car bodywork in tip top condition.”
