“We have been First News Subscribers for almost two years. We were recommended FN by friends and also the school. My child really enjoys the sudoku, crosswords and word games. She loves reading anything animal related. She takes joy reading the news articles and entering competitions. In the last year she wrote two book reviews, a full article on NASA with a video, and entered her own art piece. First news gives her that down time, news of the world in language thats easy to understand and time away from a screen.

“Despite First News being aimed at younger viewers, we use it successfully with our 16-19 year old students with varying degrees of SEN.
They particularly like the unusual animal stories and now often bring me an animal name to research at the end of the day.”

“We have used First News at Valence School for many years now. Our school is for children and young people who have physical disabilities and complex medical needs. Every week we download the printables and our students use them in lessons. They love the stories and often the students read the papers in their spare time.”

“First News is an amazing resource for our young people. It highlights current affairs and they love to know what is going on in the world! It is so visual so is accessible for those children who sometimes find reading a struggle. It covers so many interesting topics and, we as a school, have had two reports published - one about our library bus called Destination Imagination and the other when we went to Polesden Lacey to interview the Director General of the National Trust. The children love the quizes too! News in pictures is always exciting to talk about - everyone has different views and it is great to hear them. Keep up the great work First News - you are awesome!”
