It's the first thing kids see when they come into the library--they love the puzzles!

I find First News very educational for our readers. It makes reading really interesting and fun for children of all ages. I like the activities added to some of the reading. This makes my tutor sessions really fun and active. It gives the learners a lot to think about. I like the colour images used to support the reading and how it is differentiated to reach out to all abilities.

First News is a really great resource. The children in Key Stage 2 in my school love to read the newspapers in their reading for pleasure time. Additionally, the news puzzles are very effective at building children's vocabulary and the news comprehensions are effective and engaging ways to develop reading comprehension skills. The children find the stories very interesting and often amusing too.

We love using First News here in Dubai. The children find the articles fascinating and enjoy completing the activities. I wish that there was a search function as that would make it even better. We would also like the ability to remove cultually sensitive material.

Our students have all really enjoyed reading/discussing all the articles in the paper as well as the great puzzles towards the end. Your paper covers articles that are interesting to all ages from 5 to 19 and has something for everyone with all abilities. Thank you so much.

The kids love first news. It’s a great way to keep them up to date with current affairs in a language that they understand. My only negative is that it’s a shame that the editions and games can’t be downloaded to do when out of WiFi range.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your review. We're thrilled to hear that the kids love using our app to stay updated on current affairs in a language they understand. Regarding your feedback on the inability to download games for offline use, we truly appreciate your input. Our team is continuously working on enhancing the app's features, and we'll definitely take your suggestion into consideration for future updates. Our editions can be downloaded for offline use. To do this, please select the edition of choice followed by the little cloud icon to the right of the edition name. This will allow you to download the edition in the app for offline reading. Alternatively, you can select 'view' followed by 'view as pdf' to download the pdf version that way. If you require any further assistance with this, do get in touch with us at info@firstnews.co.uk.

My oldest grandson, now 13 loves this, and snatches it up as soon as it arrives. Strangely I got it for my middle grandson now 11 who wasn't interested at all. Henry started reading it two years ago, maybe three. I keep asking if he still wants it, because it is quite an expense, but he loves it. I do wonder why this newsletter comes to me, because I live in Spain, so wouldn't often have the option to discuss with Henry. I think you should ask who is to get the newsletter, in our case it would be better if my daughter got it.

Pitched at a good level for both my children (age 11 and 9). Interesting articles. Includes news about well known company children can relate to. My daughter thinks it is very well laid out and clear to understand. Fairly one sided coverage (pro-Palestine/anti-Israel) of the recent conflict disappointing. Reasonable value for money.

Thank you for your review, we're so glad that your daughter is enjoying First News. We take your comments on board and, to that end, we have built a platform which includes all our coverage chronologically – both written and video – since the deadly attack by Hamas on Israel on 7 October, as well as a two page explainer of the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict. We do recognise that, as we update on the latest developments, such as the humanitarian crisis for people living in Gaza, that coverage should be seen in the context of prior events which we reported in earlier editions of First News. Our intention is that this platform provides a comprehensive and balanced picture of the complex and historical background to the issues in the region, alongside developments as they are unfolding right now. You can view all of our coverage here https://www.firstnews.co.uk/israelgaza Thanks once again for your feedback.
