“3 years ago I took my car to Super Auto Centre (Sandile Thusi Road) to attend a "Drivetrain" malfunction. I was charged R49 526.00 to do the repair as per the invoice.
The car ended up being at super auto Centre for closed to 3 months. On the 10th of July 2018 I got my car back and fully paid the R49 526.00, two minutes after driving the car, the "drivetrain" malfunction popped up again. I called the garage immediately and they said I should carry on driving the car, that caution sign will disappear.
I was totally confused cause that malfunction was the main reason I brought my car to their garage to be fixed yet it's not fixed. I called them later specifying that that sign haven't disappeared as they said it will & they said I should bring it back on the coming Monday. That same Friday I started smelling a burning smell coming from the engine as I open the bonnet to investigate. So for my safety and other motorists I called a professional to do a diagnosis, nothing more just a diagnosis which he did.
When I took the car back to super auto Centre on that Monday, the owner (Feroz) said they won't fix my car as I've involved a 3rd party yet they couldn't fix it for 3 months.
I ended up with a car that's not fixed. R49 526.00 down the drain as I've even took a loan to come up with that money. Ironically the garage is RMI and MIQ approved. So I paid the required amount for RMI to intervene till today I haven't received any feed from them. MIQ did reply to me after a couple of months but they replied with a wrong complaint case. I even tried to involve lawyers but due to financial constraints I could no longer afford to pay them as I've already paid them 4k.
That was my first car, no person should go through what I went through. Till today I'm still having problems in my car because Super auto Centre. Last year I recently finished the loan I took paying super auto Centre, RMI was definitely on there side. This is the reality of the country we live in.”
