Got a Question?

Hi can people recommend good holiday letting agents for Isle of Wight please? Sykes have been total money grabbing and, like others, have reported operated in a way that isn’t viable for us to continuing letting this way through them.

Why can't I get any response to a problem we have with Sykes. Going round in circles, have tried every which way. Surely this can't be acceptable behaviour by any business in the UK at this time. So frustrated and upset. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would like to know why ÂŁ10450 was charged to my Masterard on 21at March. The holiday was cancelled because covid vaccination s has been booked for the 14th May by N.H.S. and because I have had a reaction to the vaccine in the past it would be a risk to go away at this time

My account details have disappeared from the 'My Accounts' section. Could you please replace all the information there was on the main page - past bookings, booking made etc. Thank you John Riddington

I have a booking for Dove Cottage REF 06H40-21-EN. As yet we have no details of the address or the post code or Key details. This appears to be the only way to contact yourselves as the fone is continually engaged. Derrick Hill SO196RQ

I asked a question 4 months ago, still waiting for a reply. Sykes response is as effective as their email or telephone service. Seems to be pointless asking a question.

Why are there so many bad reviews about Sykes also I don’t have a card to pay are there any other ways of paying also £59 booking fee is a bit expensive don’t you think
Asked by Allan (2 years ago)
Yes we booked this June 2021 after forwarding our holiday from last year due to the covid. The money was taken out the bank, now looking on line the owner has cancelled our holiday because they wanted an extra ÂŁ16. We have been told by Sykes cottages that the owner has taken our money, and we won't get it back. My partner is disabled and we saved hard for this holiday that were not going to get.I wouldn't reckoned Sykes cottages to anyone.

How are you still in business with these appalling reviews

Hello I am wondering what the email address is to contact someone about my account. Thanks.
Asked by Susan Ferguson (3 years ago)
I have recently had to move a cottage booking from March 21 to April 21 because of lockdown. I had paid ÂŁ428 so expected to pay another ÂŁ190 to cover the rental in April which was ÂŁ618 on the website, but I have been charged ÂŁ667. Despite numerous phone calls I have got nowhere can someone explain what the extra ÂŁ49 is for as it clearly states rental includes booking fees, which Sykes employees do not seem to know as this was the excuse given.

Hi, can anyone please provide a telephone number that doesn't just cut me off after a brief unhelpful message or an e-mail address. I'm getting a bit worried that they've gone out of business, I've used them in the past and they've been brilliant.

I am a cottage owner and have had my cottage with sykes for about 8 years the first few years were fine This last year has been appalling for me as a cottage owner too I feel for the guests and as cottage owners we are treated as badly too They never reply to our emails we are left waiting for over 30 minutes on the phone It's no longer a family business Its in it to make money They take money from us too saying they've given back to customers That doesn't seem to be happening either. We ask for support if there are any issues but they won't send anyone out from Sykes If we want to take our home off from them we have to give them loads of notice or they charge us enormous amounts of money for the privilege of removing it! I am wondering if there are many other cottage owners who are as frustrated as us ?
Asked by cia (4 years ago)
Yes, there are. We have not made a profit for the entire time that we have been with Sykes (around 3 years) and feel that the important thing for them was to let the property and get their 24% commission, not whether we actually made any profit. I had many arguments about pricing and they only offered to look at it again when I gave notice. We have also had all sorts of problems with customer services - failure to answer emails and a nightmare to get through to on the phone. Even then, more junior staff have been totally unhelpful, and we have had to speak to more senior staff to try to get issues resolved. Everything is wonderful when Sykes sign you up, but then the contact stops. We were given no advice on Health and Safety issues, the figures that we were given on running costs were totally unrealistic and underplayed. We have had no support when dealing with damage caused by guests and have dealt with all these issues ourselves, but then Sykes can deduct money to settle complaints at an excessive level. I am just glad that we gave notice and that we only have a few more bookings with Sykes. We have gone to another company who are charging more realistic prices and who offer much better customer service and support.

We had a huge problem. Sykes have refused to help telling us to take it up with the owners. Owners will not respond to our complaint. Any suggestions?
