“im a very happy owner of a "Lifestyle New Wool Blanket in Berry Herringbone" , very quick delivered on my doorstep in Northern Norway, (4 days) the blanket is soft, warm and itch-free , i appreciated the mail updates and the user friendly webstore. pictures dont lie, what you see is what you get . i love my new "cuddle blanket" kind regards Gunn”

“A lovely, warm, colourful blanket of a good size. The wool seems a little coarse and is not as soft as I had hoped for - maybe an explanation of the texture of 'heritage wool' or some close up pictures would have helped. I bought the Robertson's Hunting tartan in heritage wool. It is exceptionally warm and has lovely bright colours.”

Hi Adrienne, Its great to know that you are happy with your blanket, our Heritage range are made from 100% new wool and are lovely and cosy. They are made here in the UK too and the dyes used in the wool are really vibrant. Its a shame that it is not quite as soft as you had hoped. I don't know if you have seen our care guide for the blankets, here is a link for you to check it out - http://tartanblanketco.com/pages/care-for-your-blanket After a quick run through a cool wash with some wool detergent it might make it a little softer for you. We also stock beautiful lambswool and cashmere blankets if you are looking for something even softer in the future :) - Sam

“thick, warm and good quality. note, there is an odor due to the lanolin in the wool. completely natural, but know it takes a little while for it to dissipate.”

“The tartan blanket I ordered came very quickly and is a wonderful quality. The design is larger than I expected though so it doesn't have quite the charm of my last 'ancient Buchanan' rug. The checks are much larger and the colours are different, for instance there is not such a warm combination of orange and yellow in this design. However, it looks rich and comfortable on the sofa and my husband likes it very much. It is also very soft and comfortable to sit on.”

“I wish there was more pink in the blanket. Because of the way the blanket was folded it was deceiving It's only on one side and is mostly grey. But the quality is great.”

“Your shipping was super fast which was a pleasant surprise. The blankets pattern/colors/thickness were lovely. The only disappointment was that there was a strong unwashed wool smell, which I'm hoping will disappear with a washing, just wasn't used to that. Also there was a small discoloration mark on the tan check knee blanket that looked like a stain of some kind. I am hoping that also resolves in the wash, even so I would not return anything because overall I'm am thrilled to have found you. Thanks. Michelle”

Hi Michelle, We are so pleased to hear that you are pleased with the quality of your lovely new blankets! Our blankets are all made from real wool so sometimes they have an oil called Lanolin in them. This is a completely natural oil produced by the wool and the sheep we get the wool from. I think this may be the smell you mentioned as sometimes this can be caused by the Lanolin. Don’t worry though, this is all natural! What we recommend doing is just giving them a quick wash, this should not only get rid of the smell but make the blanket a wee bit softer too! “I was drawn to this range of blankets by the amazing range of colours on offer. The one I chose - sent to me as a Christmas present by my sister - impressed me so much that I sent for another at New Year. Both I use as throws over chairs - intended to keep the cats' claws off and, as they co-ordinate well with my tapestry-effect curtains, the effect is to bring the whole room together.”
