Menu for adults and children brought to table.
In the company three adults and three children aged 7,4 and 2 years.
Ordered drinks for all which arrived and were correct 😊
Food ordered kids pizza for oldest two, chicken goujons for smallest. Gourmet burgers for two and adult margarita pizza ordered for seniors.
5 meals arrived, all kids and the two burgers for two of the adults.
Waitress said my burger wasn't what I ordered ,I replied if it's been been made in error I'd eat it but would wait if she'd brought it to wrong table! She went off to check. She came back and said she was new and it was indeed what I'd ordered. I said I hope she was having a good start at the restaurant. I started eating the burger and the other adult was a good way through his. I concluded that it really wasn't my ordered burger but nice anyway !
The kids and other burger eater were finishing and I was nearly through mine when my wife said I wonder were her pizza was, a margarita,simple dish!
Called waitress and she said she'd find out, no apology at all.She came back and gave wife said pizza and stated that the chef was new and had burnt his first attempt! She also said this pizza wouldn't appear on bill.
Wife said the pizza was ok, but where was the Coleslaw or chips or salad.
We waited for to finish and realised that the car had only a small amount of time left and was parked in the south of Scarborough.
Called waitress over asked for bill , it duly arrived, wife checked it and found several items extra to our order. Waitress went off to check, I followed 5 mins later to be told they hadn't cleared till from previous diners and all would be ok in a moment.
I paid the revised bill but stated I couldn't check it as I hadn't my glasses. She took ages to generate the bill.
I showed the bill to wife she erupted and said it's not correct still an item we hadn't ordered.
Irate I strode back to till and declared loudly that ' this is rediculous you've still not got it right and what did they ever get right!!!'
Girl working till protested everything had been alright!
NO Apology!
Patron at another table said ' there was no need to raise my voice, I said there was told him to keep out of it.
Then, turning to the girl, behind till said loudly hurry up and give me a credit for value as my car parking ticket was running out. She replied I wouldn't get the credit unless I lowered my voice, also said that she wasn't obligated to give credit at all.
I protested she didn't know anything about the law and would get on with it.
I asked if she was the manager ,she nodded and said I'm standing in!
I said more training in customer relations needed and and staff should know dishes served,chef to be given cooking skills or knowing how to set oven timer so as not to burn stuff!!!
I asked her name, she replied 'Meg' , on asking her surname she said only one 'Meg' employed here then paused then said 'Dillenger' .(USA public enemy no 1 FBI)
I said she was being supercilious and could she get on and generate the credit. She didn't hurry but appeared to slow down. Credit given!!! Alleluia!!
Eventually we left the restaurant!
No ticket on car thank god!
Won't be be visiting this establishment again in a hurry”
