“Overall, the whole experience with dealing with Tom Hartley Cars has been very disappointing. For a supposedly reputable car dealer one would think that sending bank confirmation of a deposit should have been sufficient to hold the car I was interested in purchasing and a demonstration of good will. The fact that the advertisement was taken down from the Autotrader website demonstrates the belief that the car had been sold.
If another buyer should arrive after the bank confirmation was sent but before the deposit was received into their account the communication to the new buyer should have been that a buyer has already committed to purchasing the car as proof of bank confirmation has been received, but should the deal fall through then they would be contacted.
To instead sell the car without not even a phone call to myself was poor form and unprofessional from Tom Hartley Cars. The fact that this behaviour came from a director of Tom Hartley Cars is worse still and demonstrates a systemic failure in basic understanding of an agreement between two parties and a lack of communication.
Rest assured, I will not be recommending Tom Hartley Cars to anyone in future !!”

Tom Hartley also dodges email communications so you’ve got no proof of conversations but he slipped up by emailing our car was immaculate, wanted for nothing and he doesn’t sell bangers..not even 2 months later it needed £8000 worth of work that was proven by independent inspection to have been historic from when the car was bought! No morals, integrity or standards whatsoever...don’t buy from here!”
