“Dreadful experience at Preston Total Fitness. It was hotter than hell and impossible to work out properly, as they don’t have a proper air con system. Preston staff said head office would not let them lower the temperature. Head office couldn’t have cared less. I had a massive battle to cancel my membership and my request for partial refund of the joining fee and subs has been ignored. Lots of clunky old equipment that needs fixing, tiny crowded steam room and sauna, poor choice of peak time classes. Now at Preston Nuffield which is far superior. Beware if you are thinking of joining this gym - customer service is abysmal , it’s massively overpriced for such poor facilities and extremely difficult to end your contract”
“TOTAL SCAM from Total Fitness
I went with my daughters to Total Fitness in Chester. They wanted to join. Somebody explained things in a very basic way, saying we could just decide to leave whenever we wanted, no issues, everything OK there. Now that my daughter is going to live in a different city to study at University, they are putting so many blockers. Now they say that because she's going to a city where they have a gym as well, they can't cancel the suscription. This was a TOTAL MIS-SELL, this is completely illegal, we were not told it was a fixed contract for 12 months. I advise anyone to be careful when they join, it is a nightmare to end the contract. Or their people are not prepared to sell properly or they just scam people keeping them prisoners of a contract they didn't want.”
