“Marianna has planned our 3 week trip to Costa Rica early next year. I got several operators to prepare itineraries and quote so I could compare. One of the main reasons I chose to use Travellocal was because Marianna dealt with our requirements in an efficient, informative, helpful and patient way using her local knowledge and insights and after several iterations came up with a tailor made holiday which exactly meets the needs of my wife and I and at a reasonable price. If the arrangements on the ground are as good as the planning has been we will be very pleased.”

“We have booked “tailor made” holidays before with other companies who use a local operator in the country being visited, but the costs of these were becoming beyond our budget (we were quoted £7,000 for a 9 day tour of Jordan on a b&b basis). We have found the whole booking experience really easy with messages responded to within 24 hours. We wanted to tweak the initial itinerary which was acted upon straight away. Had some qualms once we had paid the deposit and were told that everything needed to be confirmed. However needn’t have worried as all trips & hotels confirmed or upgraded at no extra cost. So far so good”

“We have just booked our trip to Sri Lanka through Sri Lankan Expeditions. Booking direct through a local company makes perfect sense, with their intimate knowledge of the area, rather than through a UK agent. The whole process has been a pleasure, with every question answered quickly and thoroughly by our agent Praveen. Of course, final judgement must be reserved to the trip itself, but if our experience so far is anything to go by, we will have a great time!”

“I looked at organised tours with other tour operators, but I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. Travel local has been fantastic, building a trip tailored for me, and the ability to be able to amend the trip as much as I like until I am totally satisfied. The website and messaging service is easy to use and responses have been prompt. I would recommend this to anyone planning a trip who doesn't want the hassle of researching and booking everything individually. It makes sense to use the knowledge of local experts.”

“Travel Local is a great platform to organize our personalized trip directly with a local travel agent in some countries where it's not easy to do it yourself. We are very happy with our first usage so far, good reactivity, good communication, friendly contact. This platform is a great idea and was definitely needed.”

“We enjoyed a wonderful trip to Oman booked via TravelLocal. The booking process was very easy, the local Omani company was very responsive and proactive in their communication, and the trip went seamlessly. We really felt booking directly with a local Omani company made a big difference, not only in terms of value for money but also in terms of how authentic our trip was. “We were a group of 8 family members to travel to Tanzania.Amanda worked with me to plan this trip to my satisfaction.She gave suggestions where I needed and we planned a wonderful trip.All of us were very happy with accomodations,food,jeeps,knoledgable drivers,price of tour. “Rather than write a separate review i thought i would share an email sent to the Travel local team that sums up my views: I just wanted to express how impressed I was with Ecole travel in Costa Rica and their representative Maria. I have just paid a deposit for a 19 night tour and she has been patient and knowledgeable throughout. To put this into context we normally use high operators such as Audley, Cox and Kings, Reef and Rainforest and Scott Dunn and have stayed in some of the most iconic and famous hotels in the world. But we now want to change it down a notch and go for simpler, off the beaten track and ecological locally owned properties. We are also monumentally antisocial towards other tourist and want an immersive and totally local feel to our trips. Maria just “got us” from the outset and didn’t try and up-sell at all and stuck 100% to our budget (bar a couple of quid). The advantage of liaising with someone who lives in county compared to someone who may have backpacked once or twice and completed a free “familiarisation visit” AKA ... "free holiday" ... is honestly like night and day. Very refreshing indeed. If the trip goes well then we will be back to Travel Local and ditch the high end operators who demand at least 2-3 times the cost. Thank you, the idea behind Travel Local is amazing, fingers crossed it surges this competitive market!”

“Have you ever stared at the television, or out the window of a car or train and just wished you could go on holiday. Not one where lie on the beach all day and drink all night only to return to the beach or pool the following day. An action holiday where every day is different but just the way you want it. Where you travel as far as you want through a country with a local guide. Where you get to try the various local foods in different regions of that country. Travel Local does not have all the answers as no single company could. They couldn’t know all the best and places to eat in all the cities in the world. They realise you need local input in order to get the best holiday. What they do have, are links or connections with specialist holiday organisers in many countries around the world. It’s that local knowledge that makes all the difference. They don’t rely on what was popular last year and hope for the best for your holiday. They ask what you are interested in, where you want to go, and then fill in the details. I can strongly recommend Travel Local to organise your holiday.”

“Just returned from a wonderful trip to Jordan all organised by Travel Local. Speed & ease of booking were sensational from both UK & Jordan before i arrived in Amman; then it just got better!! The tour was organised on the basis of one on one which really did happen with a dedicated driver 24/7 plus expert guides at all the locations visited. I can only highly recommend this group for any trips you are contemplating.”

“We have just booked a trip to Costa Rica next February. We have had AMAZING service from TravelLocal via their local agent in Costa Rica. Mariana was able to accommodate our requests and make recommendations to add value to our trip. We were able to email back and forth despite the time differences and she responded immediately the next day. We were very particular about some aspects of our trip and she was able to arrange these. We stumbled across TravelLocal on the internet and I love the idea of supporting local agents and communities in their own countries. But its a win:win because the local agents know their country far better than an anonymous agent sitting in an office in the UK so we learnt of things to do and places to go that we hadn't even thought of. I would definitely (in fact I already have) recommend TravelLocal to others.”
