I contacted support immediately, and they simply told me there were no alternative vehicles available and that they would issue a refund.

I had a trip January 3, 2026 that I had to cancel due to surgery. They approved the refund however they never paid me back. It cost me $1000 and countless time trying to get my money back.

Turo is a scam. You need to cancel within 24 hours of booking, no matter how far in the future the trip is, but the app frequently freezes and may not register your cancellation. If you don't realize it within the 24 hours, there is a 0% refund. I tried to get a refund after realizing, and was passed around for hours before eventually being hung up on by the supervisor. Don't use them for anything.

To top it off, Turo refused to refund us even though we couldn't use the car! Stay away from this company - it's not like airbnb although it is touted as such.

After confirming with my credit card company, I learned this statement was false—Turo had in fact received payment, as evidenced by the partial refund they later issued.

When you call customers service they tell you there’s nothing they can do, and that it should refund.

Guests have been able to damage our cars, still use them for their full reservation, and then somehow walk away with almost a full refund—directly out of our earnings.
