“I initially thought UKDJ were brilliant. I bought two Wash FX Hex lights at a great price, but one arrived faulty and had to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair. I brushed it off and carried on. Later, I purchased two Rotospheres. Great lights — unfortunately both were broken. I connected them to my DMX software and set their DMX addresses (this is important). When I returned them to the UKDJ shop, staff claimed the damage was caused because my brother (who collected them) had “thrown them into his van.” This simply isn’t true. I have photos showing the lights strapped into seats with seatbelts on — literally as a joke, but also proof they were handled carefully. Staff then told me that the centre of both units had snapped due to this supposed mishandling. Eventually, they agreed to replace both lights with brand new units, which I collected about two weeks later. In-store, they plugged them in and assured me they were brand new. When I got home and connected them to DMX, both lights were already set to the exact same DMX addresses I had programmed on the original faulty units. For “brand new” lights, that’s extremely suspicious. It strongly suggests they were repaired units, not replacements — despite being told otherwise. Now, to make matters worse, one of the lights has developed a fault with its DMX input. I always thought UKDJ’s prices were impressively cheap and assumed they were just great bargains. Now I genuinely question whether some stock is bought cheaply due to faults and then sold as new. What’s worse is that two other DJs I know have had very similar experiences, receiving “new” lights that arrived faulty. I will never shop here again, and I wouldn’t recommend UKDJ to anyone who relies on their equipment professionally.”
